Once again I wish our board has a "care" reaction a la the Book of Faces.
Very true. Or residential streets, as is common here.
Still, while our parks and universities do draw crowds of viewers (both locals and Japanese tourists and expats), it's not quite the same as the original.
Miley was originally going to do a live stream (to which Allspark' media plugin can't link), but technical difficulties meant we get a conventional bideo instead!
It also ties in to Band-Maid, which apparently her walking tour company is going to have some themes involving next month....

Alphabet (Google and YouTube's parent company) seems to be trying out some new setting options, so you may have to tinker with the audio playback to get the actual voices and not a bunch of rapid text-to-speech, as I initially heard.

My Japanese girlfriend sent me these photos that she took of some lovely young ladies in Tokyo.

I was reminded of that when I saw this post elseweb. It seems that two anime fans whose cosplays I have been showing off in the anime thread here are having themselves a competition....
(The one on the left is also a professional stunt performer.)
What's next, Miyazaki pulling an Uwe Boll and fighting Lord of the Rings fans?
I just didn't expect the Makima/Reze matchup to get this real....

Sadly, it looks to be an American event, but I believe it will be streamed. There's been no word over whether it will be in cosplay -- although it would make a nice tie-in to the Chainsaw Man movie if they did (Julia has in my opinion been the go-to Makima performer on these shores, and Stella has portrayed Reze, Himeno and Asa).

And of course, this being Japan, both ladies posed for a cute photo together afterwards. However, as I couldn't get permission from both of them, I've blurred it.

Miley has a reunion with some elementary school classmates at a Hawaiian-themed indoor pool resort.
Real ladies, real conversation, and some cultural appropriation. And the swimwear isn't too impractical.

Perhaps it's the time I spent in and around academia, but I tend to think of September as more of a year-start than January.
Anyway, in the spirit of preparing for whatever awaits us next, here is a video of a rather thorough barbering session. The YouTube channel showing it off had information on the location (though I imagine this would be a well-out-of-the-way expense for most of us....)

Quite the opposite. Basically the reaction (at least from North American Nihonophiles) was "our culture tells us that we should fall all over the blonde actress who sells soap infused with her bathwater and made a clothing ad with possible eugenicist overtones...but we think that the salarywoman making a silly face is more genuine and approachable!"
And many memes were launched.
