Nothing *wrong*, but I already have it. It's a repack.
And a troop-builder. One that was really hard to come by for most people the first time around.

I'm content to just skip it, too. Glad others who might want one can get one.

So of the releases this mold and its relatives have had, which one/s are show-accurate? I remember this from Earthrise, the Quintesson Pit set, and the Buzzworthy troop-builder set.

The Earthrise one and this rerelease are accurate representations of the Allicons. The Buzzworthy troop-builder set one is an accurate representation of the Quintesson Bailiffs.

The one from the Quintesson Pit set is a Bailiff based on an old fan-coloring made from an old DVD copy of the movie that had very muddy colors.

Huh. Thanks. No Ukrainian fan-colored animation model striking this time? Or was that what happened with the Bailiff from the set?

This time it was a fan-coloring by the one and only Derik.

The fact that they can repack an WfC/Earthrise/not-SS toy unchanged in Studio Series is really undercutting any kind of distinction the two "lines" are supposed to have.

I also didn't know they were hard to find. I'll probably pick a couple up out of principle.

They mentioned that the switchover to Studio Series being about "accurate" representations of characters from films, tv, games and comics while Generations becomes the line for stuff outside of those (i.e. New characters, existing characters in new forms) won't fully happen until 2028 so the lines are going to be pretty blurry until then.

If they pull it off of course.

I predict they will give it a good try. They will make an exception when it's the only way to find room for a particular bot. The distinction will then unravel like it did in the first place.

But it will be good while it lasts.

Oh hey, they say they're going to hold off on doing a wide range of Studio Series figures for the new movie and let the kids line handle it, and then get to the SS figures later, so they don't wind-up making a bunch of characters based on concept art that changes (Looking at you, RotB Scourge)

Reconfirm that more characters from the G1 toon as well as post G1 stuff will be coming to Studio Series. Animated, Prime, Beast Machines(!!), Dreamwave and IDW mentioned, though I'm not sure if that's actually things they have planned or if it's just spitballing.

Sideswipe most likely coming from the new Red Alert mold (shock!)

Reconfirmed the Dinobots for titans until 2030 at which point Generations will be able to get titans again.
Definitely will be looking into Japanese characters. Japanese G1 manga isn't off the table, but because Hasbro doesn't own those characters they'll have to be collaborative with the Manga publishers. (So hey, maybe we'll get Lyzack and Esmeral after all!)

Crosshairs is "Definitely coming," planned for the last wave of 2027.

Reconfirmed that "Energon Universe" is a pulse capsule and that there will be "4 items" coming per year, including Shredhead. Use of "items" instead of figures makes me think maybe a multipack will be one of them? They're pulse exclusive because they're considered "premium" (read: expensive) and can have more deco

Beast Machines mentioned AGAIN.

New versions of previously toy-exclusive characters will likely be put under Generations, not Studio Series.

Want to make clear the plan isn't to go back and turn Studios Series into a string of redos of characters that have already been done. Strongarm mentioned as a figure that could (not will) see a new version in Studio Series, benefiting from "the correct amount" of tooling and bigger budget to make a "definitive" version.

Want to maintain distinctive lanes for MTO and Haslab. Trying to keep MTO's $150-200 or lower. Next one is already planned and is "quite different" from the Seeker 4-pack. Believe they hit on a good formula for combiners when asked if they could go MTO.

Decent interview with Hasbro, with this one tidbit really relevant to fans of the obscure-
Characters that debuted exclusively in the old Japanese Mangas (Gilthor was called out by name) are off limits due to licensing quibbles. Not IMPOSSIBLE, but it seems like Hasbro views it as a hassle at this stage with so many medias to pull from.

Also, confirmed that nothing is off game to Studio Series, with Animated, Prime and BEAST MACHINES getting name dropped

Edit: Scottsman’d!

See, I was under the impression that that's what Studio Series was *always supposed to
be*. I mean, yeah, first the live-action movies, then the original, and by that point, open it up to video games and other media, why not.

So this "switchover" business is IMO a course correction, not some bold new initiative.

(I guess they did better than the Reveal the Shield era.)

and hooray the possibility of new characters mentioned

Nobody said it was a bold new initiative? The big change is that no show, movie, comic or game is off limits for Studio Series now and they'll be pulling that stuff out of Generations.

Yeah. Studio Series is basically becoming what Generations is currently, all continuities in the mix. Except with media accuracy as the goal. (Plus Bay and game stuff).

While Generations sounds like it's gonna go off the rails with new stuff. Sadly we probably won't really know much about that until 2028 listings leak.

Generations was basically "anything goes" aside from live action stuff, including putting out new characters or a reimagined version of an existing character, which sounds like is what they want to avoid doing in Studio Series.

Does he have Optimus's face on him in the comic?

Be a neat way to introduce that faction symbol idea I had for the Earthbound Autobots a while back...
I haven't read the comics, as my free time is limited, but he just looks so epic! He does look a little small to be a voyager though.
