I'm not one of those people who are down on Newer Trek. I really like Strange New Worlds and LOVE Lower Deck and Prodigy. (Truth be told I havnt watched Discovery or Picard.)

That said I was disappointed by just how little that trailer did for me. I want to be excited by this show but nothing in that trailer looked particularly fun or exciting or nerdishly cool.

-ZacWilliam, I'll be happy to be wrong but so far I'm not excited.

I'm not watching the trailer. When is it coming out?

Does the show trailer feel like it's Discovery ish? Or more SNW? Or a whole nee show all together?

Btw, how old was Boimler in S1 of Lower Decks? He's the youngest of the Cerritos five, right?

The way the SFA trailer focused on that one kid makes me feel like it's going to be more Discovery-ish in focusing primarily through one character, rather than an ensemble show. For my part I'm just whelmed. Need more of a feel for what the show is actually going to be like than this gives before I'd be willing to invest attention in it.

Lego Enterprise D

For those who boldly build where no one has built before...

Goodness that is overpriced. For $400, you think the saucer section would open up and have a scaled bridge for the minifigs to use.
Don't forget to order ASAP on Black Friday so that you can get the "free Gift" of the Type 15 Shuttlepod with Ro Laren figure!

I do give props that, instead of the usual "Star Trek" accessories, Lego is digging a bit deeper for some character specific accessories, like Guinan's "It's Green" liquor, Picard's cup of earl grey, Riker's Trombone, and, of course, Spot.

On to corporate news, Paramount has officially announced that they are no longer pursuing a "Star Trek 4" in the rebooted film franchise that started with JJ Abrams' Star Trek in 2009. Following a near decade of troubled development, the loss of a key cast member, the cool fiscal reception to the prior film (despite strong critical response), and new ownership; Paramount has scrapped plans to build on the prior film continuity with a sequel to Star Trek Beyond. Other plans for Star Trek feature films remain in development, reportedly.

Not surprised about ST4 getting axed. I'm sure at this point several cast members would have price tags far too high for an ensemble film from a struggling studio.
