Skyrim! Because all the really good stuff never actually leaves.

I'm on console, so the choice of mods is kinda limited anyway. But I think the only one I have active is an unlimited carry weight. Maybe one or two others, but nothing really drastic.

wonko the sane?

Its been a long time since I could play anything close to vanilla skyrim. Not that it's a bad game: but the content added by modders simply flesh out the world and give the player options.

Sure; everyone always ends up as a stealth archer, but 20 different bows is better than 10.

Truthfully... other than missives, and forgotten dungeons: I mostly run weapon, armour and a couple of visual mods (like animated enchantments.). Just a layer of polish on what's already there.

Well, I finished the Shivering Isles and became the Daedric Prince of Madness. I then went back to Cyrodil and acted as though nothing at all ever happened.

I just love some of the irony you get into with some of these Elder Scrolls moments.

Thieves Guild: We want you to steal the archmages staff

Me: I am the archmage

Thieves Guild: No murder. We aren't the Dark Brotherhood.

Me: Actually, I'm the Listener...sooooooo.

Me: *dies*

Every Deadric prince in existence: MINE!

So a while ago I lost Shadowmere. I had no idea where she was. But just with a random fast travel tonight, I finally found her again. So...so...happy right now.

I never usually bother with mounts in skyrim, but isn't there a way to summon shadowmere again?

This was Oblivion. Supposedly, Shadowmere is supposed to just be at the stable of whatever city you're in. If you loose her, there was a certain place she's supposed to eventually wind up showing up at (where you first meet her). Supposedly, Skyrim's supposed to be the same way.

But...you know...Bethesda.

I did put armor on her. There was some quest and it was the reward. There was no indication that using the armor would do that and now I can't take it off.

So tell me if this sounds daft. After finally getting Shadowmere back and saving to make sure I have a save with her next to me, I decided I was going to make sure I never lose her again....so I stopped playing.

Hey, I can't lose her if I don't play. Of course, if I don't play, I don't reap any benefit of not losing her. But I'm not gonna lose her.

Why am I like this?

Cause change is scary, and media is one of the forms of reality where stopping doesn't mean ending.

I'm more impressed that it took this long.

Dare I mention that they stealth-dropped an anniversary edition for Switch 2 yesterday?

If you don't have any previous version, this version is $59.99

If you have the Base Switch version, you can upgrade to the Special Edition for $20 and then the Anniversary version for free.

If you already have the Special Edition, you can upgrade to Anniversary for Switch 2 for free.

It was a big download, so I let it download last night and went to bed. I'll probably try it out tonight after work. I expect it's going to be Skyrim.
