Well, this may be some of the last 'new' stuff for me for a while just because of events and QC being what they are, but I think my 'HasLab' shelf is pretty good!

I have an Armada Unicron (two, actually, one is at my nephew's) but not HazLab. I also didn't back LioKaiser because things went a bit nuts.

The shelf didn't cost as much as it looks, a friend got me Victory Saber when things were going badly for me the first time, I later got DeathSaurus myself, using ebay funds, and did it again with the Omega Prime set, in both cases banking more than the HasLabs cost. Due to a mix of medical and home-repair issues LioKaiser got cancelled before it closed, but I still think these four make for a pretty good capstone. I'd contemplated selling Omega off right away, but for now I will hold onto it, as I was uncomfortable selling it sealed due to the QC issues, and after fixing them, I might as well see what happens.

It’s clearly as a result of the combining gimmick but seeing Super Fire Convoy next to Magnus will always be a mood. We go from heroic super robot proportions to “Popeye with his pants pulled up to his nipples.”
At least he's still strong to the finish cuz he eats his spinach.

Is Doubledealer placed there because like me you have a vague theory that DD was initially designed as a Powermaster Soundwave? Serious question!
I have him there because, as was mentioned, he's siege cassette compatible. Because of that, in my head canon, he's from a similar lineage as Soundwave in that he functions as an intelligence gatherer. I like to group all these guys together as they all can store minions in their chest.

So I was fiddling with my SS AoE Prime and randomly found a way to store the bigass sword much more securely (and cleanly!) into place in vehicle mode. I’m not sure if it was designed to do this, but I’m also not sure if it wasn’t, because it’s such a perfect fit (and I mean PERFECT) that it *HAS* to be (right?).

Anyway, to make this happen, you kinda have to orient the sword in place while transforming it instead of just plugging it on after, placing the grip/handle of it between the robot fists, which is normally where the blade would go as per the instructions.

Once you fold the cab pieces over the hilt (as shown above), everything else should tab into place like normal. And you can still orient the connector piece with shield attached onto it once everything’s properly tabbed in place.

Personally I think it was designed this way on purpose, but maybe it might have been a bit too complicated to articulate on the actual instructions, so we ended up with the floppy mess we ended up with instead.🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway, as if there wasn’t another reason to love this guy.😍

One of the things I've absolutely loved with the modern Generations lines is how they not only keep a pretty consistent intra-universe scaling, but also keep a pretty consistent inter-universe/series scaling via Optimus or his equivalent. WfC Optimus and the Maximals are a little on the short side, but otherwise there's only about a half-a-head difference between the tallest (Reactivate if you count him, or RotB if you only include true Generations releases) and the shortest (Armada). I kinda like Optimus as a multiversal constant unit of measurement. 😆

The downside is this is why I haven't been liking some of the more recent releases. Legacy G1 toy Optimus, SS One Optimus, and especially HasLab RiD Optimus just don't fit in with the rest at all. SS86 isn't as far out of the range, but he definitely stretches the upper range as much as the Maximals and WfC stretch the lower range. I really hope they continue to stick with this sort of scaling going forward, and I'd love to get some more Optimii added to the set.

If only the blade were telescopic or something... don't tailgate this truck!

I mean, or any truck, really, but especially not this one!

In fairness, the Maximal ones are different guys entirely.

Yup, which is why their being a bit off really doesn't bother me. I mean, as long as they're getting the Blasty Zone treatment, I'd prefer they be the same height, but this is good enough. If Big Convoy is also the same height as Primal and Lio, I'll be perfectly happy.

That just leaves WfC as the smallest and Reactivate as the biggest. Basically, the video game guys are out of whack. That's ignoring SS86 since I'm keeping ER as my main G1 Optimus, mainly because of this scaling.

Also if they were going to really laser focus on scale, the Beastie guys would be Core class.
Which I'd be fine with. I've wanted the whole BW lineup in Core class since Kingdom. Ok, Megs and Primal as Deluxes.
In fairness, haven't more recent depictions of them usually had them as being Autobot-sized?

Power of the Primes, Kingdom, Rise of the Beasts... even IDW1, yeah?

Virtually everything outside of the original Mainframe cartoons.

I can see the argument for scale but the Deluxe/Voyager/Leader scaling allows for much better toys so I don't mind them being the sizes they are.
