It may just be the most blatant way to confirm Shockwave's bloodline or ancestry or whatever they call it to Amalgamous without any Shockwave releases in the AOTP lineup.
He just missed his Empurata head when he traveled back in time to be Onyx. So one day he sidled up to Amalgamous and said, "hey, you know what's a REALLY cool head design..."
I feel like I vaguely remember Evan mentioning when the toy was showed off that he likes to think of Amalgamous as Shockwave's ancestor. Or maybe it was that Shockwave is Amalgamous's descendent? Something like that, which was meant to justify the design of Amalgamous's head. I don't remember where or when it was that the toy was first unveiled.
Not hung over YET, but check back after the celebration for getting TWO My First Blasters in this economy (admittedly only the Wheels one is new)...
The Blokees Wheels one is made from two sprues (the same white/red used for the car itself). Has the My First Blaster logo etched into the side but nothing on it's painted. Both use 3mm handles (I'd forgotten that about the MFT kit) so I had to tape them up to better fit. Both do have openings in the barrel, but I'm not sure if I have a blast effect or two hereabouts.
Edit: the Blokees Wheels one's opening is too small, but the older kit's barrel suits most blast effects.

It's probably less about it being a real or fake gun than it is to warn people that it's Swerve.
To be fair, Transformer guns come in neon pink, glow in the dark, chrome and just about every color of the rainbow.

That and it's made for "bots with little hands" but Swerve's hands are as large or bigger than everyone else.
Please tell me that it's just the lighting and your Windrazor isn't actually yellowed.
Looks like it is. Some of the white plastic parts are still bright white, probably a different type of plastic.
Honestly, I didn't notice until I looked at the pics. It's possible it's not as bad as it seems, but definitely not as good as you're hoping. Take into account, everything carded had been hanging on my wall for YEARS (hence the dust) and have only been closeted for a few.
The way of all (plastic) flesh, sadly. Swerve up there has a slightly yellowed chest/torso.
