That Mirage actually makes me consider it instead of the one in the no-clear-plastic three pack for my nephew, as he already has two to three versions of two out of three of the molds, and this would likely work just as well for him.

To further support my theory about “Energon Surge” being a “kid segment wide” initiative, the newest iteration of the Mega Changers (aka, Titan Changers) 4 pack appeared in the UK with the figures sporting “energon surge” deco very reminiscent of what we’re seeing on Mirage.

More images of Prime Changers Mirage. Packaging doesn’t say anything about “Energon Surge”, but the vehicle art and the figure’s deco evoke it. Interestingly, the effects pieces are separate from the blasters, presumably adding to the pool of pieces that could be used by Generations figures.

Speaking of, local Walmart is in a “Transitional” toy set, and they put up a tag for Prime Changers Mirage. According to the app/site, it IS available for pickup or delivery…supposedly. I’ve heard that if a filler can’t find the exact item they’ll “substitute” with an equivalent item. And I’m not in a mood to deal with Walmart’s BS.
So this should be a good indication that he’s in the system and should be out any day, if he isn’t already and people just don’t care about this segment.
I saw Prime Changer Mirage at 2 different Walmarts in Illinois just last night. Definitely part of the newest mod reset.
