I figured out why Bruticus appeals to me more than the other super deformed combiners this company's revealed. The vehicle modes look like Advance Wars units.

I still want a Matrix accessory that the Zodiac orb can peg into as the central gem. Still don't know why they gave use that weird pedestal.
Wasn't there some livestream where one of them said all the primes' artifacts would combine somehow?
They combine into the secret fourteenth Prime, Macguffix.
I love these things. The price hike with Bruticus is unfortunate and there are some weird color choices overall but I love how they managed the Chibi style and transforming into all three modes. The little Bruticus goomba is also hilarious.
Plus, Toy chestplate option! Like a proper Bruticus.

It's hilarious how the SD chibi set means that the only significant difference in DIno mode is Sludge. Grimlock sort of has it but the other three look nigh-identical to a non-SD DInobot set. Gonna have to think on this one. Bruticus needs an opponent but the weird baby faces on Swoop, Sludge and Snarl do not appeal to me.
A local store put up full sets of Green and Yellow Mecha Invasion Devastator for about $50 less than buying all three sets separately.

It's a fantastic set of toys, and a great deal, but I think twice about Deluxe repaints, never mind that.

I actually forgot that skybound Megatron had a gun mode because all I remember is like 8 straight issues of Optimus beating everybody else up with WWE moves. I’m just glad they’re selling the handle separately from the actually useful stuff.
Looks like a useful set all around. Fillers are whatever but the shoulder pieces are great, making the tank mode look better and slightly improving robot mode. The new cannon isn't perfect and makes the tank look a bit doofy but eh, a lot of that comes down to how the turret is mounted too far forward. Buttplate would be okay but partsforming means that I'll leave it in the box. The faces look like they'll reuse the back and "forehead" of the stock head and require unscrewing to swap, meaning I'll also leave those in the box.

They made gap fillers for the bottoms of the feet. Come on now.
One one hand, it's stupid and unnecessary. On the other hand, these are smaller and less likely to cause any detriment to the toy's function than their usual kit stuffers.
