Gambaruger looks tedious to me. Raijin-Oh is the sweet spot. It captures the Brave/Eldran look well enough, but the combination shouldn't require complete disassembly into a pile of Lego.
I don't dislike Raijin-Oh but he's somewhat generic. Daitei-Oh is more or less a rehash and I just don't like Gosaurer. Gambaruger wins by default. I much prefer his default combined mode over Geeat Gambarugar though.
The engineering on Swoop looks to be unconventional, effective and simple. These guys really are the best 3P currently active. Looks like the wings fold up similar to TR Mindwipe to form the robot legs then he deploys winglets from his torso. Combiner joint is the ab crunch, so that leaves some space in the torso to hide the hand. Grimlock's kinda huge but no getting around that since he has to be the torso by himself. Even he's got a new trasnformation, with the lower jaws apparently forming the arms. Slag looks boring in comparison. Really looking forward to this.
They're also apparently making a Vehicle Voltron but with each vehicle having a robot mode. Just bonkers.
Current 3rd parties only survive by the fact that Takara can't afford to make MPs of crowdfiller characters and aren't stupid enough to charge MP prices for toys smaller than deluxes.
Witwiqi WK-01 Ultra Magnus Kit - My verdict? Buying it is a hassle, installation is a chore but the results are worth it. It's more tedious than hard really, but the application of force can be scary, I admit. That said, I've done literal Surgery so my threshold for this type of small, precise work may be skewed.
A Commander class set of white Optimus and armor would be pretty cool and would make for a relatively simple, partsformy transformation into Magnus but I guess copying the MP was cheaper to develop.
