After seeing more of Police Predaking, I think it was a missed opportunity when IDW1 made Prowl Devastator just have Prowl's headcrest instead of having one side red and one side blue. In toy form, you could even make them clear plastic and it would look amazing

They didn't put that much thought into it. IDW assigned personalities and plots to characters via a dartboard.

They really should have included a partforming head or something.

At least the altmode for the partsforming stuff is pretty clever, if a bit off-theme.

I dunno. I hate it, but I'm still impressed. Brute forcing these limbs into the traditional configuration when they were deliberately designed not to do that probably isn't trivial. At least it's more complicated than what combiner kibble usually does, and they made it work while also achieving the cleanest alt mode I've ever seen for this sort of thing.

I find it intriguing where the giant shovel hides. The cab is clearly the cab and one of the side rails under the trailer. The rear end of the trailer is the arms and the Long Haul bumper extension. The top front of the trailer is the weird added kibble on the back of Long Haul. That leaves the bottom front of the trailer and other side rail to origami into the shovel.

This really is the most interesting 3P to come out in years. Their engineering is ingenious yet simple, they don't skimp on paint, they have metal, they have light up eyes, the figs are big and yet each figure costs only slightly more than an official Voyager. Their next project is a MP-scaled Bruticus with Overgear vibes and the Volcanicus they teased. I cannot wait until the Volcanicus reveals they set for October. Those may actually fit in with Generations even better than the Constructicons.

Looking at the pics again, I think the proportions, while on the lanky side, would be okay. It's just the tiny, tiny head.

Kind of considering it for the better hands and the gun extension but eh, that's a bit too expensive for minor tweaks.

This is a really clever way of doing something I don't think I'll ever use. The bucket really is my favorite part of the engineering.

Factory reject Botcon Overlords have started showing up on Chinese sales platforms. jivety head, halfassed concept, admittedly cool colors, bent rubber parts, breaks itself in two different ways and good chance you get one with rusted pins and screws.

I saw a review of that add on set and thought it was for "fixing" backwards limbs devastator... but it didn't show the original combined mode, lol and I've gotten so used to seeing Unluckiness' painted version... I wasn't even sure thats what that green truck was for... like people have said though. I respect them for doing it... but it wouldn't be for me unless it was included in a box set. Or something like that.

I don't know. I mean, if you're trying to convince people about the ease of use of your product, you probably don't want to bring the phrase "Open. Damnit, open!" to mind.

Yeah, I don't envy anybody who has to make Astrotrain better but this looks really bad. He looks like he's wearing a huge jackey, and you can tell by the time they got to working on the shuttle mode, they were fed up and just got that little wedge of plastic that doesn't even fill up the entire gap.

Mecha Invasion Volcanicus was at the toy show. Looks like Slag is very G1 but no surprises so far. swoop is satisfyIngly flattened. Wonder how they fit a fist into that. I like how the combiner visually balances the wings with the Slag tail. Placing the heads on the shoulders Predaking-style won’t work because triceratops heads are much bigger and shaped completely different from the pteranodon head.
Not sure about the partsforming but given the rest of the engineering, i can let it slide
