I was watching 3POA on youtube, and they said that Hasbro had a round of layoffs on Friday or Saturday.

More than likely, these were part of a previously announced slate of lay offs that are just now “processing through”. Just because a company announces layoffs, doesn’t necessarily mean the entire amount is immediately done.

That's probably it. Hasbro said upfront that said those previous layoffs were going to be staggered.

The tariff question got to the Supreme Court today, who generally sounded as skeptical as all the lower courts who ruled against them, but who knows? We will see what happens. What I wonder is if they are struck down, will companies drop their prices back to normal (HAH!) or just leave them high as they got the excuse they wanted?

Not going to matter. The administration has already indicated they have several other laws lined up they believe allow Trump to install tariffs.

Yeah, I want to believe, but history hasn't exactly shown that trend.

Charitable benefit of the doubt, I guess: if I were Hasbro, I'd keep things where they are for a while too, if only because who knows what fresh hell will come after this question is supposedly settled (and it might not even be, or not in my favor).

I just had my first instance of having to directly pay a tariff fee, rather than having it baked into the purchase price. My World Dragnus just arrived today. Had to pay $30 to DHL the other day to get them to finish delivering it. There's knowing Trump's tariffs are hurting you, and then there's getting slapped in the face with them.

That was actually the point of the argument today, a lot of people still seem to be thinking that foreign governments pay them. They don't. Americans do, and so they're just another tax.

Yup, I think Exatron's just sharing what it's like to get explicitly hit with one rather than in a less-direct "factored into the cost in a less visible but no less real painful" way.

I feel that must be a pretty sobering moment.

I know, I was agreeing with him. It's part of what's turned my want list into a wish list. I don't have the means to compensate with everything else that HAS to be done, so a lot of optionals got optioned out.

Yeah, seeing a $24 price tag for something certainly feels different than something costing $20 but you have to pay an extra $4 when you check out.

A worse version of

$20 + $10 shipping vs $30 with free shipping

Because at least that wasn't caused by a toddler with a gun that only hurts the economy when they fire it. And they love firing it.

To me it's more like you already checked out, you paid for the item, and then suddenly find that you have to pay EXTRA to get it out of the store, after you've already completed the purchase. Worse in that if you don't pay the unexpected fee, you won't get a refund on the item, and you loose out entirely.

I get that all the time when I receive packages through FedEx.

They'll just deliver it, then a month later, here's the rest of what they didn't charge the person sending it. Surprise! You didn't agree to this and we didn't mention it when we delivered your package!

Ought to be illegal.

So…I guess we’ll be getting another price increase come the new year?

Perusing Amazon, I’ve noticed a large percentage of 2026 Generations/Studio Series figures seeing another bump in preorder pricing. Per Amazon policy, they WILL honor prior Pricing if you placed an order…but still a touch fishy to see one of the largest retailers, and one with a tendency to UNDERCUT when possible, kick up pricing.

The increases are not consistent from segment to segment, but generally, it’s looking like:
Deluxe- 29.99
Voyager- 44.99
Leader- 62.99

But again, it’s not consistent. AotP Deluxe 2026 are 29.99, but Studio Series remains 27.99. Big Convoy is 62.99, but they have Nemesis Prime on preorder for just 54.99! And as of the time I’m looking, neither BBTS or EE have increased their pricing.

So…I don’t know, man.
