That's kind of the thing here: the courts are still working properly, they just aren't fast. Democrats don't HAVE to do anything here, this problem takes care of itself.

Don't get me wrong: democrats also need to be screaming this atrocity from the rooftops, but they could do it comfortably safe because the only outcome is against the trump regime.

I don't know - Warren is against it and she's generally pretty smart and level-headed. If she has reservations I'd definitely at least pause to reconsider.

For good reason too. crytpo, even with regulation, is a flawed concept from the get go. It's way too resource intensive for what it is.(either in power consumption or storage) and I don't think it's nearly as secure as they like to make it out to be.

Still, it's worth noting that on the whole the Democratic party is at BEST center-left and tend to be more center-right when it comes to business interests. We don't have a solid left-wing party in this country.....

Bernie Sanders is also trying to stop it, which is typically a sign that Congress is about to make a big mistake.

What do those two want, an all-out ban? Because it'd be nice to have someone of consequence actively pushing for that, but I'd also never dare hope for it to get anywhere.

It’s only use…literally the only thing it is used for at this point…is making rich people richer (most often) by tricking the stupid.

So it has no real positives and it sucks up MASSIVE amounts of energy for…nothing.

It should be banned outright.

That's not the only use of crypto. It's also very good at hiding illegal transactions and purchases for contraband.

It's literally the money system purpose built for criminals. But until we, as a species, get over our greed: creating and enforcing regulations and oversight is about the best we can ask for.

I used to know Connolly 20-ish years ago when he was a local politician. He had an office in the same tiny building my mom worked at briefly and I helped him with a few computer issues. He was a nice guy back then, or at least he seemed to be.

Had he retired earlier this year instead of dying now, a special election would've been triggered this summer. Instead, we get to wait til probably Nov. to vote in his replacement.

Ironbite-it'll be a Dem btw, this area is way to blue to go back to Red.
