Come to think of it, aren't there some hyper-progressive countries that actually make it mandatory for everyone to retire when they reach the legal retirement age? I assume that includes elected officials.Yeah, being old doesn't mean decrepit or that they're inactive, but working until you die really shouldn't be normalized, either.
Yeah. I've been at many jobs (including my current one) where geriatrics are forced to work because they just cannot survive. Hard work, hours on their feet because their social security just doesn't pay the bills.Maybe in countries that pay people enough to actually live, they can enjoy retirement. Here in the US, on the other hand......
