It really just serves to underscore how insidious the original bill was. Saddling the state's residents with billions, with a B, in debt to an already insanely wealthy company if they ever want to take back control of the territory? In no civilized country would such an arrangement have even been constitutional, but as we are all slowly learning, the US has never been a civilized country.

Yeah that's never surviving the Supreme Court. No way, no how.

the same Supreme Court stacked with illegitimate conservatives who went back on their testimony that Roe V Wade was settled & just today gave a green light to campaign finance fraud?

Yes; SURELY they will save us!

The Supreme Court already ruled in Frisby v. Schultz that you can ban protesting in front of houses. I'm sure today's court will decide that they like stare decisis again.

So the law doesn't even ban anything that isn't already illegal? Brilliant, Ronnie.

No. The Supreme Court didn't ban it. They just said it is constitutional to ban it. Now Florida is banning it.

The sooner *everyone* comes to the stark realization that the current Supreme Court is a rubber stamp for right wing Republican policies and that *no* policy is too extreme or blatantly against the Constitution enough that either one of those things will stop it from being enacted should 5 Justices wish it; the sooner we can start to maybe fix things.

The current Democratic leadership not *immediately* getting on board with court packing (even though they lack the votes) has some big “Labour rolling over for Brexit” energy.

Fascists gonna fascist. Sad part is the Republican base will insist that clearly fascist laws are actually protecting their freedom instead of curtailing it.

Honestly considering this issue has never been uncontroversial, I'm impressed that a federal assistance program was covering it up till now. Who passed that?

Florida was at one time a purple state.. it's slide into right wing extremism is somewhat recent.
