Honestly, I don't see DeSantis having the populist appeal that Trump does.
That said, I'm pretty happy to take ANYTHING that denies Trump anything that he wants.

I'm very much in agreement, although I do wonder how DeSantis's efforts might have worked if he wasn't actively campaigning against Trump. Trump changes everything.
It doesn't actually. Trump has some rare ass charisma that allows him to avoid everything. DeSantis on the other hand is as slimy as they come and doesn't bother to hide it outside of the Florida swamps.
