Notably, Kickback loses the extra translucent swords, but they gain a bunch of accessories pilfered from the Centurion pack, with extra paint. You get the two big energon cubes, the Megatron gun, the mini Soundwave, the mini Reflector, the Shockwave gun, and six small Energon cubes (presumably the ones the G1 reissues always get).

EDIT: No, my mistake, I forgot the Kingdom spoiler packs of Ultra Magnus and Nemesis Prime had made new mold Energon cubes. These are probably those ones instead.

I know someone who seems a bit salty that they dumped all these in this set after he spent so much time scrounging together Energon cubes from the Centurion set. He's a markup reseller, so given what the intent of all that scrounging was I'm not particularly sympathetic to whatever it was being thwarted.

For me the annoyance is more that the camera accessory is in this set and not the set that has, y'know, the camera cons in it.

This! I decided to go in on the Dramatic Capture Thundercracker / Reflector pack, and am kinda baffled as to why they didn't include the camera with that. I've already got the unpainted version from the Centurion pack though, so it'll have to do.

It's not accurate but it would have been cool to have the Barrage/Chopshop bug legs in show Insecticon colors. Ah well, I'm in.

I'd love those painted accessories, but not enough to pay for everything else in this set that I have no real interest in. Skywarp, Shrapnel, and Kickback are sidegrades at best, while Bombshell is of absolutely no interest to me at all. I'm very happy sticking with the normal WfC releases.

I think I'm going to cancel my TC/Reflector order too. The redecoed Reflector accessories there were the only thing I think I'll miss, and those not very much.

I've been considering canceling my order as well for TC/Reflector. I don't need another Earthrise TC and I have the BotCon 2016 Reflector 3-pack. Yes that Reflector is small, but they work really well as the character.

It's probably gang molded with some of the other accessory pack bits and they didn't feel like it was worth parting just that one piece out.

I'm annoyed. I would rather overpay for those painted accessories and one bot than end up with four bots I don't need, even if this set works out to a better value per bot. I don't want them and don't want to pay for them.

Not to get political, but I would be really interested in seeing how much money is collected from these increased tariffs at the end of the year.

Put some comparison shots of them together and tried to list out all the changes. For the original versions, I tried to use TakaraTomy official photography for a more apt comparison.

Skywarp:
- Black plastic and paint are replaced with charcoal gray plastic and paint
- Warm purple is replaced with cooler and slightly lighter more cartoon accurate shade of purple
- Silver paint detailing is replaced with light gray detailing
- Screaming Seeker head sculpt is replaced with stoic Seeker head sculpt
- Chest "fans" appear slightly lighter gray
- Canopy appears to be darker orange
- Light gray, formerly silver detailing, now extends a bit further on the upper torso
- Light gray, formerly silver detailing, does not extend as far up on the lower torso / waist
- Purple torso panels are now (likely painted) light gray
- Knee detailing is now teal instead of gray
- Gray "wing insert areas" (from the original toy that carried over to the animation models) are painted on in jet mode
- Horizontal stabilizer wings are purple (likely painted) instead of black for animation accuracy
- Striping colors changed to match other changes, may be different in size and or proportion
- Decepticon symbol is changed not to match the rest of the purple on Skywarp but the standard color used for animation based figures (lighter and warmer than Skywarp's remaining purple)

Shrapnel:
- Black plastic and paint changed to very dark gray
- Warm darker purple changed to a lighter cooler purple
- Black plastic on arms changed to aforementioned purple, likely through double running the mold in very dark gray than in said purple
- Silver paint changed to light gray
- Gray plastic changed to light gray
- Clear yellow / light orange changed to darker orange
- Silver paint on weapon removed, keeping it unpainted purple plastic
- Silver and blue collar detailing removed for animation accuracy
- Decepticon symbol on chest shrunken and moved up in placement
- Yellow feet sticker based paint removed for animation accuracy
- Silver and red insect detailing removed for animation accuracy

Bombshell:
- Black plastic is slightly lighter (like Shrapnel)
- Purple paint is replaced with gray
- Clear orange is slightly darker looking
- Silver plastic is lighter and it looks like his thighs might be painted but that could be unique to this promo shots
- Silver paint appears lighter
- Gold paint on head is removed
- Gray parts on arm joints are painted yellow
- Yellow is more vivid
- Silver plastic on arms is now black (likely due to double running these parts)
- Black upper thighs are now silver (likely due to double running these parts)
- Silver plastic on heels is now black (likely due to double running these parts)
- Blue paint in insect mode is removed for cartoon accuracy
- Red and silver stripes are removed for cartoon accuracy
- Decepticon symbol is more bluish and slightly different placement and likely size
- Black back torso piece is now gray (likely painted)
- Black plastic on lower torso is painted gray to match the rest of the torso (this is likely tied to the above back torso piece)

Kickback:
- Clear purple Energon blades are removed
- Clear translucent wings are now silver plastic or painted silver
- Metallic purple paint on gun is now silver making the entire gun silver
- Black plastic is likely a little lighter like the other Insecticons appear to be
- Clear yellow plastic looks a bit darker and more orange
- Yellow appears to be more saturated / darker
- Silver paint on head is removed and left black for cartoon accuracy
- Purple plastic appears lighter and a less warm / more cool shade of purple
- Green paint on torso is removed
- Gold and red sticker based painted detailing on legs is removed for cartoon accuracy
- Eye paint appears more vibrant (could be just photos)
- Silver paint on gun is likely different like the other Insecticons
- Decepticon symbol looks mostly the same but likely has some adjustments

Every time I think I'm fine with a Hasbro Skywarp, I find out that Takara's less-warm shade just looks so much better. There's something about the eyedropper tool they use that rarely misses.

As I've mentioned, I should be skipping this set as I don't really need the stuff. I'm less attached to specific shades on the Insecticons, and there's a new Seeker mold I may hold out for. But between the possibility of opaque gray/silver plastic wings for Kickback, and this, ughhhhh.

Oh, well, a bridge to cross later on.

I agree completely. I'm used to that warm shade of purple, but my god seeing them next to each other, the much cooler shade looks perfect on him. It makes the Warmer shade look almost wrong.

It can be jarring. It's especially fresh since I just came across pictures of the Classics/Henkei ones a few days ago.

I am colorblind and have a lot of trouble with blues and purples. However, the purple on Hasbro's Skywarp registers as more reddish ("warmer", I guess?) for me.

In another era, when Takara used to release their own decos of figures alongside Hasbro's, I would have simply waited for this Skywarp. I also likely would have picked up their Kickback for the nice, silver wing deco. I'm indifferent on their Shrapnel though, and don't care much for the gray on Bombshell, show accuracy be damned.

It's cool that they're releasing some of this stuff in more premium decos now, but most of the sets are a bit "too little, too late" for me to want to go in on.
