I gave up on that series, part of the way through its second season, it wasn't for me and honestly, I felt that it should of just ended with the first season as season 2 wasn't really doing anything truly interesting to warrant carrying on watching

Just been watching the latest ep of: From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation of a Talentless Sage, honestly the girl Anastasia, is more tragic story than I originally thought she was, I'm looking forward to the next ep as the MC is likely coming upon the scumbag family, like a ton of bricks or two

Oh hey, Link Click is back for season 3. Jumping right back into "but how will you empathize w/ these chars if they don't have tragic backstories", I see.

A Livid Lady's Guide Episode 7

Annnnnnnnd I'm dropping this show. That was just too much. I'm not going to be able to enjoy the thing when I want the main character to die horribly and know it's not coming.

I'm quit enjoying that show, sure its not the best revenge story but its enjoyable none the less

One of the more interesting shows this season and maybe underrated is: The Insipid Prince's Furtive Grab for the Throne

The Emperor hasn't been able to decide upon a successor and all of his children are candidates for the throne, the story following the Seventh Prince whose goal is to make his twin brother the eighth prince Emperor and he got to deal with the older siblings above him as they seek the throne as well

I'm enjoying "Goodbye Lara" this season. It's really well animated, and loosely based on The Little Mermaid. At first it seems like a cute and quiet love story but it has very ominous moments that make me wonder what's really going on.

Hey I'm not here to police your watching. By all means go enjoy it.

I however am done with it. What she did at the end of episode 7 makes me hate her. I can't stand her, and the thought of having to watch a show where the main character is someone I despise means my only real choice is to walk away.

I am also watching The Insipid Prince, among a lot of other shows.
The Oblivious Saint Can't Control her power. (Caroline is adorable)
Victoria of Many Faces (Which is apparently only 9 episodes long, so we're near the end of it. Shame, It's pretty good.)
100 Girlfriends - Still the same wacky antics.
The Ogre's Bride. Good but so Shojo it hurts.
Ascendance of a Bookworm season 4. (Yay!)
Rich Girl Caretaker (I love the opening so much. Otherwise it's a fine show. Nothing amazing, but I'm enjoying it.)
Skeleton Knight in Another World S2 (Look Ark is awesome.)
Still watching the Classroom of a Black Cat and Witch. I was worried the 'kiss' thing would be too obnoxious a running gag, but thankfully it's rarely mentioned after the first few episodes.)
Jobless Reincarnation. (Still just okay)

Though I'm an inept villainess (Honestly this might be my favorite show in the lot)

The World's Strongest Rearguard (Honestly pretty forgettable)
I Became a Legend after my 10 Year long last stand (Not bad)
The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects. (I'm really liking this one)
Kaiju Girl Caramalise (She's so cute, and she just wants love but she keeps becoming HARUMON! I'm enjoying this so much)
From Overshadowed to Overpowered. (As the person who I quoted in this post said. I'm so eagerly awaiting the next episode.)
The Exiled Heavy Knight (Yeah it's by those guys who do the weird as hell animation, but I'm digging it.)
The villager of level 999. (I like the questions it's asking. That makes it interesting enough)
Tomb Raider King (It wants so SO badly to be Solo Leveling, but it's a far cry from it. It's okay.)
Heroine? Saint? No I'm an all works maid! (I'm very interested in how all the reincarnations are going to tie together.)
Trapped in a Dating Sim season 2. (I've waited YEARS now for this! I'm enjoying every second!)
Clevatess Season 2. I still think 'Clen' needs to get his ass kicked by a human at some point, but I'm enjoying the show. The teacher who has the ability to control metal has become one of my favorite characters.
Black Torch (Nothing to really write home about. If I had to drop something due to not having time. This would be it.)
The Cat and the Dragon. (It's hard show to describe. It's basically little slice of life peeks into stories where everyone has at least one magical cat creature in it.
The Duke's son claims he won't love me. (It's just kinda going. I haven't watched the latest episode though)

Then I'm watching two Hidive shows.
The Saint with the RV going on a foodie roadtrip is one. It's alright.
Hell Mode season 2. (Pretty interesting)

Yeah, I'm watching some of those shows too. Oblivious Saint and Ogres Bride feel similar, with the poor MC tortured by their sisters. They both feel too convinient for the MC. Ogres Bride, I feel the MC is way too passive and the guy is basically a sugar daddy.

All Works Maid is different and fun, though I was a tad disappointed that the maid angle
was just a rejected concept for the game. I much preferred the thought that the plot was going completely off the rails from the game.

Trapped in a Dating Sim I caught recently so I didn't have to wait long for season 2. It has its moments but the aspect that women have all the power in the country falls apart when most of the high ranking positions are all men, and the snooty women are only shown flaunting their money and consorts around. Even though it's supposed to be based off a crazy shojou game that's not very shoujou, I can't help but feel like the creators of this series haven't actually played any shoujou games all the way through. Also annoying that nearly all the fanservice is with the girls.

You and I Are Polar Opposites is on season two. I still love the awkwardness and the realistic chars. None of the endless rivals stuff that's common in a lot of romance stories (eg Marmalade Boy). Just chars getting in their own heads and struggling to communicate.

Ronin Warriors season 2: I'm enjoying the plot twists and character development.

I forgot a few shows. I'm watching two on Prime.

My Stepmother and Stepsisters aren't wicked. (This is a fun show. It needs to roll back on the joke of one of the Stepsisters or mother saying something that the MC takes literally, only for it to turn out they were being thoughtful of her. Like we get it. I am behind on it though.)

From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman season 2. (I swear we didn't have such bad voice acting for last seasons dub. The main guy and some others are still good, but when it comes to the students introduced in this season, it's like they ran out of VAs and just grabbed random people)

I didn't watch You and I are Polar Opposites, and have waaaaaaaaay too many shows still to add another.

My roommates and I will eventually watch Grand Blue Dreaming season 3. The first two were very funny.

One of my roommates and I are watching the Samurai Troopers show. (I really wish it'd get a dub that treated it as a Ronin Warriors sequel. Basically with all the English Dub names and such)

It's...okay. Much like the first season it very much feels they are trying to do the same scope of story they did with the original show. Except with a fraction of the episodes. It's not really working.

Also personal gripe. WHERE are the old evil Warlords and Lady Kayura? Lady Kayura is legit my favorite character from the show. Can I PLEASE get anything of her at all?

As a history nerd, I'm eating well this cour:
Red River (Hittite Empire, 1323 BC)
Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia (Mongolian Empire, 1220s)
The Elusive Samurai S2 (Kenmu Japan, 1335)
The World is Dancing (Muromachi Japan, 1374)
Mao (Taisho Japan, 1923)
Grow Up Show: Sunflower Circus (Showa Japan, 1950s)

I'm also watching Polar Opposites, Draw This, Then Die, Inept Villainess, Clevatess, Sparks of Tomorrow, Goodbye, Lara, Kaiju Girl Carmelize, Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc., Daemons of the Shadow Realm, and The Ghost in the Shell.

Interesting note on that in the most recent episode:
The virtues of four of the five Braves are the Warlord's virtues, and actually lines up fairly well with how they were portrayed previously. Courage is a new one though. I read a rumor that it was meant to be Arago's, but haven't not seen any actual confirmation on that bit of info, so grain of salt there.

It's possible that Kayura and the others were whacked by Ramaga when he took over, but I have my doubts it'll be addressed either way given the lack of mention so far outside of the spoiler above.

Just been watching the latest ep of Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun and this Demi Idol arc has been very entertaining to watch, its full of heart and humour, while not going into crazy turf and loosing all focus, much like MHA, I lost interest in that because by the fifth season, it completely lost its way and forgot its school premise for end of the world threat!

So it wasn't given in show, but the official website for the new Samauri Troopers gave a timeline and filled in some of the gaps. And it at least partially explains what happened to Kayuri.

A new Demon Emperor, Mabira (魔比羅), appears before Ryo and friends.

They are unable to don Suzunagi's armor. Just as the four are placed in danger, they are rescued by Kayura and the others, wearing armor they've never seen before. Kayura and the others drive the Youja forces into retreat.

Kayura and the others developed these new armors based on the armors created by Suzunagi.

After Mabira seized the four armors belonging to Kayura and the others, Ryo and friends realize that Mabira intends on resurrecting the Purple Kikoutei and use it to invade the human world. Ryo and his friends resolve their lingering emotions regarding their armors and manage to summon the Kikoutei armor. Regaining its true power, they successfully repel Mabira.

Following this, Kayura and the others set out to deal with other countries* that may have caused Mabira to appear.

* The term that is used here is「他国」which literally means "other countries" but within the context, I believe it still means other regions WITHIN Japan. As you can see above, various regions of Japan used to be called 国 kuni. This is slightly different from Sagume's use of the term 大陸 (tairiku・continent), which may encompass much more of the world than just Japan itself.

That's the last direct mention of Kayuri, but Nasti then develops an armor from Kayuri's armors and sends a prototype with Jun on a trip into the Demon World to fight another potential Demon Emperor after that. The Troopers take care of it, but Jun couldn't use the armor, and this next possible demon emperor manages to escape with the prototype. Then Ramaga, when he first shows up in the demon world, possesses said demon and develops the 10 warriors armor from that prototype, which is why they're so close to the armors used by the others.

The part in the quote box happened in 1998 though and the show is set in 2024, so it still doesn't say where they went after that.

Suppose this falls under anime as a more-specific thread. I just did the anniversary showing of Ghost in the Shell. I was pretty canon-blind to this one, never saw it, the series, any of the other movies, or the remakes; but it is one of the pillars of animated cyberpunk stuff. I know it's quite different in tone to the series as well. Enjoyed it as a nice little bite-sized cyberpunk espionage thriller with a side dish of brain hacking and "what does it mean to be alive/real/a person". Neat design work, some real damn pretty animation.

So I think I enjoyed the Summer cour a lot this year. Highlights for me were "Though I am an Inept Villainess" and "Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky". Villainess definitely has similar vibes to Apothecary Diaries with the whole Imperial Court setting just with a lil less Poison Goblin energy. Love Unseen however is an adorable romance that really kicks your emotions in the balls consistently as it goes. Both nearing an A+ for me.

But quickfire for the rest of my thoughts.
"A Livid Lady's Guide to Getting Even" - meshing my favorite economics lesson type of show with revenge porn. B

"The Ogre's Bride" - Started Late but hooked me. Cute romance in an odd world of Demon love at first sight BS. B-

"Goodbye Lara" - interesting modern take on the Little Mermaid but meh overall - C

"The Cat and the Dragon" - cozy and adorable. Just a feel good one. A-

"The Oblivious Saint Can't Contain her Power" - No Isekai and straight to the marriage version of Saint's MP is OP. Cute and adorable. B-

"Yorei-Shinden Samurai Troopers" - Cool to see a new take on the classic Ronin Warriors but just kinda ok. Love the 1st cour theme song. C

"The Frontier Lord begins with Zero Subjects" - Love the starting from scratch vibes and most of the characters are endearing B+

"Kaiju Girl Caramalise" - adorable romcom but wanting so much more from the Kaiju side of things. B-

"I Became a Legend After my 10 Year Long last Stand" - Generic OP MC and Harem. But has a god chicken! - C

"From Overshadowed to Overpowered...." - Also Generic OP MC beginning a Harem. But HOT ELF WITH ALL THE RIGHT STUFF. And a hot Mama before that. B- :D

"The Villager of Level 999" Generic OP MC again! But a bit more of an oddball cast and an overarching mystery of the world that intrigued me to catch up on the manga. B

"Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You" - Not gonna lie, Yamada/Tayama has me coming back to check in too. B

"Daemons of the Shadow Realm" - I really like the world building, but my biggest question here is "Who is the bad guys?" A-

"Mushoku Tensei" - I'm honestly late to the party here. Just binged it all before S3 started. While not caring how the perviness starts, it has become really damn good. A-

"Tensura S4" - still a favorite. But it certainly flip flops from SoL to Action nonstop quite a bit A-

"Skeleton Knight in Another World S2" I'll admit I love the characters (another elf hottie ...) but it really began to lose me later on. C

"100 Girlfriends..... S3" - Guilty pleasure with so many otaku jokes. Though the GF's just keep getting weirder and a bit too uhhhh no. B-

"Trapped in a Dating Sim...S2" - A little less skeevy of a guilty pleasure and interesting where it took some of the characters. B -

"Re: Zero S4" - Damn this never lets up. Next week will have to be an insane finale with how this has all gone down. A

"Hell Mode S2" - Bring back the OP MC! It's kept me coming back but honestly it's just OK - C

"The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World" - Another Isekai foodie show? Sure why not throw in a hammer space camper van and adorable mascot alongside the devious cinnamon roll cook MC. B

"The Ghost in the Shell" - It's a little different take on the series even if closer to the original source I guess. Kind lost me as it retread the same beats at times. B

"From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman S2" - Love the show, but the dub suffered this season. And damn girls, just jump his bones already. B

"Digimon Beatbreak" - I might have a new favorite Digimon. Without the constant highs of new Digivolutions early on it's kept me invested just with the characters and writing. A

And Damn! I can't believe I've watched all these in one season >_< This isn't even counting going back and watching "Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling" and "Farming Life in Another World" That I've binged through as the seasons ended here the last few weeks. Honestly It's looking to be as packed come this next Cour.

I found Ogre's Bride and Oblivious Saint to have similar themes. I liked Saint better since the MC actually does stuff (even if she's OP). Ogre's MC was way too submissive for me, having to be saved all the time. Plus, the parents being complete asses w/out much explanation other than they thought Karin was cuter (even before she became a bride) felt dumb and trying to force sympathy for the MC.

I agree that Love Unseen was great and a tear jerker.

Trapped in a Dating Sim: eh. It was alright but ofc MC ends up w/ a harem of his own. Also felt like there were way too many blond girls. I was also hoping MC would break the slavery stuff w/ the beastkin/elves.

Daemons: I'm reading the manga, and I love Arakawa's work. I like that there's no clear villains. Except for Ivan. I don't care what kind of tragic past he has, I'd love to punch his smug-ass face.

Goodbye Lara: loved the animation and open interpretations. However, the ending was a bit disappointing/sudden.

Karamelise: cute but man the guy is dumb for doing the media thing. I also wanted more info on Akai.

Samurai Troopers: I enjoyed it, but I also don't recall much of the original show. I also appreciated the occasional scenes catering to the ikemen fans. XD

Digimon: Ghost Game was fun, but Beatbreak kept me really invested. TMM and I kept making jokes about Kyo's male harem.

Smoking: enjoyed this more than I thought. I can't help but admire how careful the smokers are to not leave any ashes/butts behind, unlike smokers here.

Inept villainess: I was not expecting to have this much fun. Very satisfying. I haven't checked out Apothecary Diaries yet, but I should.
