Hound was my first ever Transformer, so I've got a soft spot for his toy appearance. I would be all over a Retro Deluxe Hound in toy colors with retro G1-esque packaging.
Which is completely understandable, but you would think that someone doing the deco for a high-end product would get to something that seems off, like that the front of a car was suddenly a slightly different color for no reason, and would maybe check a second source.
Megaplex being the "shoot at me!" false target means that of course he's painted up to look like what everyone thinks Megatron looks like while the REAL Megatron is hiding out dressed as "Generic Decepticon #4"
It really is. I bought a ML Bumblebee, which I told myself would be my one example of the line since it was all priced out of my comfort zone. But I have a huge weak spot for dinosaurs, and the fact that the Missing Link treatment results in improvements in both the robot mode AND and alt mode...
4-Pack idea: Oops All Bumblebee (and BB-adjacent) Molds
new Devestation Bumblebee with a new G1 Toy / Battlemask type head in blue as Glyph
Earthrise Cliffjumper in teal as Tap-Out
Studio Series '86 Bumblebee with G1 Toy / Battlemask head in Red with green optics as G1 Red Bumblebee / G1-ized...
I remember getting G1 Wheelie as a child. It was probably the only Transformer that I was ever actively disappointed in. I do think this figure looks pretty good, but I'm probably good on Wheelies unless they do this mold in "Wild Boy of Quintessa" colors which, given that they did that for...
As with all things (I am not currently seeking feedback on this position), Animated did it right. I love Megatron's dual-rotor helicopter with huge underslung cannon alt mode.
I bought some for my son, who was the right age for them at the time, but he was never really into them. Playmobil recently has had some pseudo Dino Riders lately, too.
Well! The more you know!
Honestly, I can see his point. I enjoyed trains as much as the next kid, but they could never compete with Dino Riders for my attention
I think the current in-store offerings don't have the armor. They have two different sets of molds that they keep releasing in different colors/gimmicks. One set of molds has the armor, one set is the "catch the dinosaurs" version that has no armor for the dinosaurs but has a couple of...
I've got a bunch of the Zuru 5-Surprise Dino Strike figures (I mean, cheap Dino Riders. I wasn't gonna NOT buy them) and I think that they work pretty well for Dinoforce shells. There's no sauropod, so I guess Rairyu is a plesiosaur now.
