I suspect that this whole thing started with the idea to do a Megatron version of the Behold, Galvatron Gen Selects release. And they either couldn't fit it into the normal Gen lineup and had to create a capsule around it to get it out there, or someone saw the concept and thought it would be...
They need to full on reboot. They can't keep relying on Obama-era actors, because they're dangerously close to just being a nostalgia brand as-is. Go all in on the cameos, reboot everything with Secret Wars... go from there.
My fear is that since the Fox X-Men exist in their own "universe"...
That Black Widow and Quicksilver's been out for a while now.
As for Scarlett Witch and Vision... I love that Scarlett Witch. It's probably my favourite costume for her. But that plastic cape on Vision is obnoxious.
Will probably see if I can find someone selling Wanda separately on eBay.
Oh indeed! Thanks!
Thanks!
This now makes me think of Bayverse Prime as a giant, terrifying cat.
"I brought you this Decepticon head as a gift. Do you like it?"
Haha, thanks. I feel that.
It's a double edged sword. The only reliable MCU hits post-Endgame have been nostalgia trips like Spider-Man NWH and D&W. Doomsday embraces that with Evans and RDJ coming back, and bringing back the Fox X-Men.
I don't think this movie can fail.
But it still doesn't answer the question of...
The current owners realized that they were primed to cash in on the nostalgia trend. Old Atari consoles may be expensive, don't work on most modern tvs, and you need to track down old cartridges to play games. Also, all of this is only available at out of the way nerd-centric hobby stores...
Oh absolutely. There's a very strong belief that the TM1 designs were so good the first time that they can't be improved upon.
You saw that to a lesser extent with the Cybertron designs that Legacy revisited. People asking what the point was.
Of course you're also right, in that this...
I'll say it again, Hasbro's ActionVerse brand would be perfect for this. You could do a four inch figure, a weapons/mask sprew, and a vehicle and probably sell it for under $30 (based on current ActionVerse vehicle set pricing).
It would be a more kid-oriented thing, but I don't think that's a...
A lot of that seemed to be the ambition of Brian Goldner, who really believed in Hasbro's potential as an IP powerhouse.
It's no great shock that Hasbro began scaling back its ambition across different forms of media after he died. He was apparently the one who pushed for the Power Rangers...
You're not wrong, but that's a deeper issue with the frame system in general. It's taken the scramble city aspect out of those characters and teams.
For all the shortcomings you could point to in CW, it did lean into that play pattern rather effectively.
But given that they seem committed to...
