Of these three, I'd consider Adtran the one to watch because they at least already have the means to manufacture such a device. If they're smart, they'll see this as a perfect opportunity to break into a new market.
I really expected "replace the C suite with AI" to keep being dismissed as communist rabble-rousing longer than that before someone actually did it. Then again, I don't know how much influence Zuck has on the rest of his industry, or if they all know he's a kook.
So, that's interesting. Hey, remind me, because I was still in high school at the time, did Bush demand other NATO countries join the war in Afghanistan on the grounds that 9/11 counted as being "attacked" by a foreign adversary? Because I seem to recall we ended up pretty much soloing that one.
I was just thinking, a lot of what's going wrong in the AI world is highlighting deficiencies in what I'll call our information supply chain. So much advice in tech is just "Here, punch this line of random gibberish into the command line; don't ask what it does or how it works, just do it." But...
Which might actually work better, if we can teach it a little thing called order of operations. And I don't mean the arithmetic kind.
I mean, this wasn't even a case of it writing new code and that code breaking everything because it was garbage, like what's been happening at Microsoft lately...
Also I went looking for more information on this and it turns out this isn't even the first time Kiro has done this exact same thing, or the longest downtime it resulted in. If Amazon didn't learn anything from that incident, they won't learn from this one either.
Oh hey, another person confirming that the EU has already rolled out a system that does what this one pretends to do and does it without any flaws or downsides. I guess the thing Portugal has is just their name for this system? I wonder how long ago they passed it; I'm surprised the entire EU...
Goddammit. It's bad enough for the left and the right to both be espousing extremist views I can't abide, but do they have to literally be working together? That's the kind of both-sidesism that Ken Levine games wouldn't even stoop to because it would be too unrealistic.
So what I'm getting from this is that Marco Rubio was too cheap and/or lazy to hunt down the same shoes in his actual size and secretly buy those and stash the ones he got from Trump away. Instead, he not only makes himself look silly but risks Trump noticing his too-big shoes and catching on...
At least they're bothering to warn people this time. The question is whether they're doing anything to try to stop it, or if they're still following the 9/11 playbook on that front.
Most overtly fascist Tory regime in history gets ousted by Labour who proceed to be even more fascist... and then in the midst of it all, somehow pass the most revolutionary positive change to the the structure of the British state since the Magna Carta, what the hell is going on??? This is like...
