So which version of the Arcee did everyone end up getting (those that didn't get both, anyway)? I still can't decide. I have a "G1 movie" shelf waiting for her. Though, I do think the prototype colour version has a better head sculpt, and am not sure why animation colours version doesn't have...
Okay, some new photos came out for Sideways (reveal photo above, new photo below). This one looks much less like a render, and the colours are much closer to what I was hoping for! It looks way better.
I think most of the G1 combiners could have used a bit of tweaking in terms of members. I like that Combiner Wars used Groove as a chest originally. Aboninus has two twin-headed beasties and Sinnertwin could have been something else more interesting. Predaking has two big cats members, and both...
The colour value of the show appears halfway between the original toy and this one, though leaning towards the original toy a bit more. The yellow in this screenshot matches the original toy more too, though in other screenshots from other scenes, it seems paler to match the new one more...
Interesting! Is anyone else getting Fall of Cybertron Kickback vibes, from the changed colours? Definitely more insecticon colours. I appears they changed the values of both the purple and the yellow to be cooler & a bit darker. Looks good overall, though the long neck (probably something to do...
On the larger size classes, the design differences are usually much greater, and the character selection is often a bit different. I always had to squint to figure out which Core Shockwave I was looking at, for example. And I wouldn't have to really worry about something like a core class Kup or...
Another issue with Core class was there often seemed to be both movie style and Generations style figures of the same characters on pegs around the same time.
Yeah, they basically did. That's why they made Metroplex so lanky, to be able to say he was the "tallest Transformer" for marketing purposes. POTP Predaking was the same height as CW Devvy, despite only being 5 components, though.
Is it true that they used the same Pennywise design as the movies? The movies established that he is supposed to look different every time he comes back, and I've been worried they won't do that for "branding" reasons...
After seeing most of the remaining Primes, I've become convinced that the 13 should have all been Voyager scale at minimum. The existing Deluxe, and even Voyager figures I feel could have used a little more budget (though Micronus still is very neat looking).
I always got the feeling that it needed tightening up too, and it would have benefitted from having Mel Brooks involved. He would have been perfect as the mad scientist (who already felt like he was channeling Mel Brooks anyway).
