I quite liked it too! Pretty much what I wanted out of a modern day MOTU movie. The problem is they seemed to pick about 5 jokes, and just rehash them 5-6 times each, instead of maybe 2-3 max.
This kindof feels like the last big opportunity to get new kids into the franchise.
So, the "leaked" Scooby Doo collab, are we thinking it's going to be a remold of Freakwency? Just watched TJOmega's review of that one and it seems pretty solid, I'm just not attached enough to that vehicle.
Looks great, but should have been its own character, especially since they were remolding the accessories, give us a new head. Or at least, maybe some big hair?
Rampage would need to be taller than the original figure as well, though, so I'd be ok with him being a commander and just getting plastic jointed treads instead.
Depthcharge can save a lot of plastic by not having that whole armature sticking out behind him, and dropping the disc shooting gimmick, but the tank treads on Rampage are def. trickier since they tie into his third mode. If I were to guess, they'll just mold tank treads on one side of the...
I for one am appreciating that we even CAN have a term like "sunbow slop" these days, as I take it as a sign of a healthy fandom from the next generation (in a similar vein to the Star Wars prequels getting accepted). It's something that people couldn't have gotten away with a decade ago.
They could always just have the itty bitty figurines, like what came with Unicron. I like the idea of bringing back a kind of Titans Return play pattern, only they don't become heads, they just interact with the figure overall. Keeps the working cockpits without needing the character to be both...
I'd like to see more GI Joe vehicles done as their own guys, the way that the other crossover figures are. Transformers and GI Joes are even already in the same universe, most of the time! That way you can get wild with the designs, and not as constrained with colours etc, or having to "match" a...
Good video! It's been a LOT of lucky breaks that everything is coming together. It's been a good sign that Mainframe has been reposting the episodes, too.
Also, I recommend the Reboot Rewind documentary on YT, if anyone here hasn't seen it. It's a great watch!
