While I can see why people would be put off by it, I don't particularly mind. It's not much different from Marvel Legends putting out a Red Skull action figure or the hundreds of WW2 tank/plane kits.
What would do it for me is that any purchase of any of these directly funds the CCP since...
Yeah, they’re doing a Gustav to SS officer thing and an American battleship to robot wearing Lady Liberty’s crown. The Soviet one’s just a generic tankformer with an ushanka.
this is the only released one though
I dunno what I'd do with it but it's really damn cool. The retro war vehicles are interesting enough but modeling the robots after their country of origin is even better. Too pricy for my level of interest though.
I don't know what the official heights are supposed to be but he's drawn relatively consistently a head or so above Rodimus, who is the same height as Optimus.
ER Optimus's head comes up to the bottom of the clear plastic part on Grimlock's chest so it's a pretty big difference. Still, all...
It's unlikely that they'll be able to get Magnus to the head-taller-than-Optimus height he's supposed to be so it'll probably end up a similar height to the Studio Series Dinobots, but a lot chunkier and denser.
More than pulling parts off and playing dress-up. They had to go up one size class to make this work but could handily fit the armored version in Leader.
The commander looks to have largely the MP transformation for the most part. Even simplified, I can’t see it being particularly easy on the parts count.
At the prices of exclusive Leader-class toys and the last release of this mold, it's only twice, but I get your point.
I'm just disappointed mostly with how bad the wings are and how he has Cybertron Prime's guns still
Maybe if Magnus had come out earlier. Stege Magnus has its issues but this doesn't do anything significantly better to warrant a rebuy.
I'm sitting ROTB out completely due to the clusterhug of its toyline.
