IMO core needs to fix its identity. Either dedicate it to small versions of mainline characters or small characters, not this weird hodgepodge.

A combiner with that level of partsforming is an easy pass. I don’t think HasTak’s engineers have sunk to that level at least and not having 100% adherence to the cartoon gives me some hope. That said, I’ll have to see the torso first. The arms and legs are pretty much solved at this point. I...

Post Pictures of your Transformers and have people add captions!

Picking out small details helps add to the impression of size, I feel but it honestly givesme a headache.

To be fair, Studio Series doesn't have Titan class toys. Yet.

Wt in oils refers to how dense it is. Higher wt translated to a thicker, more viscous oil that’s more difficult to work with but is more durable and stable. going the next measurement up or down shouldn’t make too much difference for the purpose of lubricating toy parts.

Core class is okay value for money, just not the Dinobot molds. They’re not great in any of their modes and having most of that carry over to dinoking isn’t appealing.

He looks great for a core class combiner but $80 is Commander class money and none of the three modes are commander quality. The characters are also basically cannonfodder so I’m not exactly enthused to shell out that much.

They were DVD pack-ins with a magazine or book series IIRC. I had the ninja team toys for a bit and they didn’t even bother including episodes with the dumb things. They were also only like 12 minutes apiece and only like ten episodes divided among two teams.

It’s an obstacle that’s been overcome in the past. The problem is that Japan’s child population is the smallest it’s ever been and the adult fandom, while dedicated, is not all that big due to Transformers being a second-stringer franchise. IMO, they’d need to appeal to the general population...

It’s doing pretty well but I wouldn't say it’s flagship material yet, at least in the quantity and relative cost of releases. I dunno, the tone was pretty alright, in fact I prefer the more toned down humor they had. What I found terrible was the long stretches of meandering in between anything...

Due to declining interest in Transformers in general, Takara was somewhat desperate to appeal to what they perceived was popular among children for Prime, so they did Micron model kits, stickers and a goofy tone for the show. They even tried putting in segments of a girl band to try and garner...

Most of what they do nowadays is import Hasbro’s stuff and even then they don’t release the complete toylines at retail any more. Compare that to the entire toylines full of premium paintjobs and retools we used to get from them. That said, even if Transformers isn’t as big in Japan anymore...

Ah makes sense. Transformers really isn’t all that big in Japanso they’d not invest a huge amount there. Scheduling thing is probably right. I honestly don’t remember that time all that well.

The all-star lineup but small size/budget says to me that they were hoping the line does well but didn't want to spend too much money on it. In all likelihood, it was meant to be a filler to tide things over between Superlink and Galaxy Force.
