Was just going to post about this. I agree that $20 each is a bit of sticker shock, but the Super7 4" Godzilla figures are $20 and come with zilch. Depending on the quality of the figures, these seem a downright bargain, comparatively. I might cherry-pick a couple and see how they hold up...

It's not surprising, I think it was 10-15 years ago I had a Best Buy employee tell me they were going to get rid of DVDs and Blu-Rays; his time frame was just a bit off. It is frustrating, as Best Buy used to be one of the better chain retail sources for anime, but that ship sailed a while ago...

That was the one where Cobra found them and woke them all up, right? I much prefer that one to the (Dreamwave?) one where the art was so murky and it seemed like almost everyone died.

I have a soft spot for Evangelion, but it is definitely overrated for what it is: an Ultraman knockoff. (Except for Jet Alone, which knocks off Jet Jaguar, obv) It's got its enjoyable moments, but there are too many similarities to common Ultraman tropes and quirks to ignore the clear influence...

We recently had a discussion about underrated anime, anybody care to share what they consider to be overrated anime? Mine would be Akira. Kaneda and his bike are certainly iconic anime imagery, and I get how it was a groundbreaking film at the time, but the movie just didn't impress me or draw...

I'm not ready to write them off just yet, but this story direction isn't really doing much for me.

I am in agreement with G.B., I think there's a very fine line in Who between 'companion' and 'recurring character'. Take The Brigadier, for instance: appeared in several seasons, alongside several Doctors, and is someone I think the Doctor would consider a good friend. But was he a companion...
