I think i tried shaving the corner of that one down on the Optimus. Right elbow panel on both of them, although the left isn't exactly that much looser. Scary.

Same. But even then, these things are supposed to be able to take a little bit of flexing. (Referring more to the Mini-Con joint here.) The joint could and probably should have been simplified a bit, which is something they've shown a willingness to do with other remakes anyway.

Well, that's lovely to hear about something that's over $100 in my neck of the woods.
Fortunately that price tag was also keeping me holding back, so I haven't gotten one of these ticking time bombs yet.
I'm a bit surprised more upgrade kits that include (or just are) one haven't been tried. I've seen precisely one, and while what they do with it (Motocompo turns into gun) is what you'd expect and makes sense, the execution is... meh.
