I received word that I'll be receiving my AOTP Quickstrike and Blast Off this week, about 3-4 months ahead of the seller's estimate. That's cool but I was really hoping to receive my Nanmu T-Rex which was originally estimated to arrive December but isn't likely to arrive on schedule.
I guess it's more a marketing thing since this franchise does need to sell toys but I dunno, I guess it's more the fictional handling of it rather than the symmetry? Archenemies and rival characters do help establish the desire for the other but maybe stagger the debuts of the same gimmick...
Got informed that my Quickstrike and Blast Off are both in the country. Wasn't expecting that. Initial listings pegged it as April, though that could just be the store giving a worst case estimate.
I really don't like how symmetrical the two factions get. Even going all the way back to 1984, the Microchange gun robot probably at least partly got chosen as the bad guy leader because he has a base to go against the truck robot who was the good guy leader with a base. We got Soundwave as his...
I didn’t pick that set up, so I’m in for the mace. That and the shoulder really help the wonky turret. I notice the kit is significantly more expensive outside Asia though.
On some thinking, I kinda wish they’d ditched the helmet and key and just gave him the pistol he shot Optimus with.
Also...
There’s a taco stand near my house that only ever opens at night. This is totally a front for drugs right? Or like Mexican vampires. I notice a lack of garlic on their menu.
One one hand, it's stupid and unnecessary. On the other hand, these are smaller and less likely to cause any detriment to the toy's function than their usual kit stuffers.
Hey, threadstarter, can we have the thread title changed to "Transformers: Age of the Primes toyline discussion ll Update: 2026 Product revealed - Combaticons, Beast Wars and more Primes" for a bit? no reason.
It's technically accurate to the Skybound comics but eh. At least it's a separate kit from the useful stuff. It can unfold into a turret similar to G1 Megatron's stock but I can't be bothered to look the photo up again.
The main set has the usual fillers which I wouldn't buy by themselves...
I actually forgot that skybound Megatron had a gun mode because all I remember is like 8 straight issues of Optimus beating everybody else up with WWE moves. I’m just glad they’re selling the handle separately from the actually useful stuff.
Looks like a useful set all around. Fillers are...
While I don’t doubt the gacha money’s doing a lot of heavy lifting, it’s more an indictment of One Punch Man’s uniquely terrible animation. Horsegirls is basically a sports anime about track and field.
