I never want to see the Bee Movie/ROTB Optimus design ever again. It’s just not that good and there’s a ridiculous amount of figures official and otherwise of it. If G1 Optimus didn’t have a 40 year head start, Bee Optimus would probably beat him.

It's better. Ideally Nexus is the combiner, not a component of the combiner, but facilitating a combination that's not usually possible would be an acceptable secondary gimmick.

I don't mind that they did a compromise. It's how they went about it. Like, the Bruticus chest is clearly designed to be closer to the toy chestplate, so I think painting it like the cartoon chest does a disservice to both with no real reason to do so. Either design the chest to be the shuttle...
