It's a neat looking robot. Achai's head (still prefer that other one, but finally a non-dour Bumblebee) sits on a sorta long stalk, but it's neat how well that works with the look.
I'd be more tempted by this Classics-y take if they hadn't stylized the window shapes so much. They're way too...
It can be (it's one of my favorite things about Armada Megatron/Galvatron) but the tradeoff was not insignificant in Blitzwing's case. At least Springer's firing gimmick was contained in the gun.
Plus it has enough rubbery plastic to be maddening, and the missile-firing tank barrel creates a solid, cumbersome thing to hide in jet mode (I'll leave it to others to point out that its length sticks out from where it tucks between the legs). Not as bad as the TR one's entire turret just...
I never had much trouble with the knees on any version of the mold, but then I didn't really transform them a lot so loosening wasn't as much of a risk. But they were weird and fiddly and hard to get the hang of, so it's good to see a fix. That's a point in this release's favor.
It does seem to...
That's certainly also possible, and also a case of "I'd be stuck buying two things I don't want to get one that I do". But I'm content with how I made my point.
... it might get me if it's some cheatsy Reformatting 3-pack where Galvatron is in full-on reformatting deco (a lavish, more detailed...
This.
Alas, this is probably years in the future, in a Dramatic Capture set with a new Octane mold that has similar drawbacks to Blitzwing and a Ghost Starscream from the new Seeker mold.
Sometimes I miss having the Kingdom Ultra Magnus. The SS86 one is appreciated, but just too damn big and wide and unwieldy.
Still kind of miffed that no one ever bothered with an upgrade-whatever kit that made for a more Geewun trailer. (I think there was one fanmade design for 3D printing that...
Just that it's limited by the particulars of that line. It was a pretty solid design for what all that, but it might turn out better without the diecast construction and size/parts count limits, leading to a more cohesive altmode.
All this presumably partly facetious talk of Classics homaging isn't doing much for me, but I actually would love a redone Classics Jetfire that had decent leg articulation. Now that I've largely had the "cartoon Skyfire model" desire addressed, I can turn my attention to the other cool designs...
The colors are a bit muddy or murky on my monitor, but that's probably this laptop showing its age (please don't die I cannot afford a new one).
But I'd buy that in a heartbeat. And then probably sell off the Throne version while keeping the Prime Masters.
[Edit: Really (why do they keep sculpting his face so wide)] liking the new headsculpt, but currently leaning toward a pass or at least waiting on it a while. Currently it looks too similar to the Kingdom colors. That release is on the to-sell block anyway though, so I might have room for this...
I wish the SS86 mold had factored in a way for Cliffjumper to have his little chest spoiler shelf. Maybe have it swivel back to be covered by the backpack/rear half of the car for altmode.
