I can see the desire to give the front half its own full altmode because it separates from the trailer anyway and might as well have a complete shape. And I do prefer it separating -- I don't want an Origins Wheeljack situation where the trailer has to collapse into a million panels, some mini...
I don't think anyone's actually asking for a 1:1 reissue as opposed to a Missing Link-ed up version, with the new articulation. Even the G1 toy-style robot mode could still have a swivel neck (or a ball I guess, idk the structure) for the face panel, universal shoulder and hip joints, and so on...
The trouble with this is that that's an abstract, subjective goal, and by virtue of that openness to diverse definitions can be contradicted as soon as someone has a different definition of it. Does "as they should have been at the time" mean being able to strike dynamic, non-brick poses...
I wish they'd made a white Op. The robot mode is a bit oddly "grandpa forgot to put shorts on and wandered out the house in just a shirt and flipflops".
Think those are based on the spiked knuckles Op deployed in DOTM to take out Shockwave. The Baiwei kits pack them with the Bay trilogy Voyager Op KO as part of an upgrade/accessory kit.
I don't really have the room but ughhhbhb between Nemesis Prime and likely Dark Hot Rod/whatever version of that we get, I'll probably have to throw down for this
I can kind of imagine a revamped version of the original sled that can disassemble into a bunch of upgrade kit style parts. A back plate (which we kind of see here), which can have the module for the fuller chest and head attached to it (plugs in atop the windshield/original face area), and...
I don't really want an all-in-one out of Studio Series. All the little engineering doodads and blast effects can also go. Just give me a proper space Winnebago whose front doesn't have 3/4 of itself protruding out of the trailer.
And whose robot mode has a better face sculpt and an actual...
The dance stuff is fun (and really it's ABOUT TIME we get some more variety in this gameverse). It's also a good device to have something interesting happening while foregrounding a loooot of dialogue. But
Having seen one in person now, I can verify the impression I had from pictures that I'm not very fond of the way they've done this face. Between the large Angry Eyes and the awkward Cartoon Five O Clock Shadow vibe of the gray faceplate, it's... Idk, not very Powerglide.
On the other hand, I...
Nothing against Darth_Prime, but I'm so weary of that reference from social media where "porn is the punchline" has become so, so overdone. This is just a personal thing, and I speak only for myself, but I wouldn't mind not seeing any more.
That backdrop looks kinda neat though.
(Sigh, still...
