Also a good one. My other favorite was the burger-stegosaurus because it transformed sideways.
ANYWAY I wonder if the Under-3 toy is part of the theme or not. (There was a single-piece, non-converting burger dino back in the day. Not sure about the robot ones.)
I've always been able to just buy the toy, usually for a dollar or two. The annoying parts are asking which ones they have and driving to different stores, but that's the hunt anyway.
I always wondered if TM Megatron (for example) would or could transform if his big kibble butt weapon was lost or damaged. (IIRC he was knocked off a cliff or something and his BKBW fell with him without him holding it, which strikes me as cheating by the animators.)
ANYWAY G2 comic-style is...
The Omnibots have been flagrantly absent from the updates. The Powerdashers got new toys, fellow mailaway Reflector has had updates, but the Omnibots? Even Bumper has been updated.
They're just about the last of the pre-Movie
toy lineup. I think *the* last if you don't count Mini-Spies or...
IMO that's preferable to the Beast Wars-style of weapons that are integral parts of the altmode- TM Megatron, Bantor, etc.
The secretly-hidden style, though (Insecticon, Ultra Optimus Primal, etc.) was great.
I never thought the Man of Iron on the cover was *supposed* to be Megatron or even any actual character. I ways considered it metaphorical-- lots of covers depict events that don't actually take place in the issue.
That being said-- I bet the coloring in some of the originally-black-and-white...
Not technically an error, but the Cybertronian Imperials in G2 #1 weren't depicted in the later-standard green/teal and white/cream/silver. (The actual shades/hues of their unified colorscheme varied a bit, too. I assume different colorists coupled with some variation in the printing process...
Take the limbs+torso idea as a base, but tweak it-- a jet that forms the torso and legs, with cars or trucks as limbs. Maybe two small cars form one arm. Maybe a motorcycle becomes a hand or weapon. Maybe something else becomes a torso and an arm.
Maybe the theme involves oversized cars...
I'm annoyed he didn't get any domestic redecoes. New guy, good mold, distinctive altmode, combiner limb-- kind of checked all the boxes. Yeah, he was retooled, but that's not really the same.
I think I've whined/ranted about this before, but...
I remain absolutely baffled that the Core/Legends/sub-Deluxe/Basic/Scout pricepoints/size-classes ended. They were entry-level-type fun little guys and one would think that cheaper figures would sell more units than more expensive ones...
I love how Cyclonus is RIGHT NEXT TO the miscolor. Usually they're "mistook one guy for another"-type mistakes (especially from the back, like Dinobot Perceptor other there).
This is incredible levels of error. It's wonderful.
Hot Slag is good, too. For burning justice!
