Conspiracy lunatic thread - people who believe in absurd nonsense are dangerous

See, this is how headlines about awful people ought to be written. Betcha you'd never catch the writer of that article using a phrase like "police-involved shooting".

    Anti-Semitism

I had to click that link just to make sure it wasn't an old story from, like, 2018 or something because I'm positive this isn't the first time he's said this exact thing.

UK politics thread – meet the new boss, same as the old boss

Is that what Canada does in a situation like this? I'm actually curious which countries with parliamentary systems do.

No, it's definitely worse. At least Ben didn't just admit to being a literal pedophile and accuse the entire rest of the world of being them too in the same breath.

Who's trying to break the internet today?

My answer: Create a new government department dedicated to digital technology, and require every tech company to make their source code available for that department to review. Even Microsoft lets outsiders look at their source code, to a limited degree, to provide second opinions how secure it...

Nobody has the intention to invade Ukraine

No, no. He's not going anywhere. He's just going to be the guy who owns the planet and the rights to all its resources, up to and including the colonists who actually get sent there to do the work because, guess what, laws against slavery also don't apply in space! But getting back on topic, I...

The Nintendo Thread of Jumping, Slashing, and Home Decorating

Also, trying to appeal to the non-gamers they courted with the Wii was never going to work because, contrary to their intentions, most of those people hadn't actually on to buy many games for it in the first place. A lot of them only used it to play Wii Sports and maybe one or two other casual...

I have a theory, but you're not gonna like it. Biden might be looking ahead to the 2024 election and thinking "It'd be a lot easier for me to win this if Trump runs again, and he can't do that from behind bars."

    Ranting about quebec: newspark edition!

It's also kind of an inherent problem with democracy: Politicians have far more to gain if there is a problem and they're seen addressing it than they have to lose by getting rid of someone else's solution, so it's in their best interests to quietly kill programs that help people so they can...

I mean, that is the whole point of battle flags, isn't it? Even the bad guys know that both sides benefit from both sides knowing who's on their side and who's on the opposing side.

Because the system doesn't actually want to do anything to Jones. They want to look pretty and do as little as possible, because it lets them have their cake and eat it too. The bullshit they can't get away with saying out loud themselves continues to reach its intended audience, and at the same...

    Steamdeck Here...

I've seen pictures of the box Valve ships these things in. They make it really obvious what's in them; they might as well print "HEY THIEVES, THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT" on it.

It wouldn't so much be an appeal as saying "Hey, you literally don't have the authority to make unilateral rulings on anything, now sit down and shut up before it gets you in more trouble."

I agree about the takeover thing, but the cheapest EV on the US market right now is the Chevy Bolt EV, which starts at over $40,000. I rather doubt a startup would have been able to undercut that price by now under any circumstances, especially if they're stuck making do without Musk's investment.

    Sonic The Hedgehog

I wonder if there's also a difference between what audiences in the two countries want out of a Sonic movie, or a movie in general. How well did the first movie do? I could absolutely see Japanese audiences not being receptive to the generic "live-action/CG revival of a famous cartoon" formula...

Well there you go. Even accounting for inflation, I find it hard to believe Jones has made more money off his internet show in just one decade than Limbaugh did from a decades-long career on the radio plus however many books he sold. But then, they wouldn't be demanding it from him if he didn't...
