It can, but to me "Prestige Television" is more about turning tv seasons into one long narrative, forgoing the episodic aspect of storytelling. Criminal Minds is really useful because it ran for fifteen seasons as a standard tv show before it got picked up the "prestige streaming show" treatment...
"Prestige animation" perhaps? I donno.
Going back to Batman, not too long ago the comics introduced Punchline. A new female sidekick/protege of the Joker. News sites covering it called her "The Joker's New Girlfriend," or "The New Harley Quinn."
Neither was accurate to who or what Punchline...
I just think that sometimes fandom can be a bit.... bludgeon-y (as opposed to Bludgeon-y :P ).
Like... cards on the table? I love BTAS. Batman is one of my favourite characters in pop culture, and BTAS was in many ways my intro to that world, to the point where I hear Kevin Conroy's voice in my...
Yeah I dig that show. It's a good one.
I just find the notion of "this franchise can't be X 😠" to be really limiting.
I think both IDW and SkyBound have proven that you can go in a more mature direction with this franchise and have it work, so I'm not going to be hesitant about adaptations of...
I must have missed where that happened in SkyBound's run that this is going to be based off of.
I mean... you just listed examples were something like could be done well. I'd argue that the Energon Universe by SkyBound (again, what this show will be based on) has done it well. So if it's a...
It's from the same people who made Invincible. So I'm expecting around that level.
Which, to be frank, is fine by me.
"TRANSFORMERS: BUCKETS OF BLOOD" is lame, but the idea that nothing can ever aspire to be a bit more mature just because previous attempts have done it badly doesn't sit right...

To be fair, Trump backtracked and delayed the implementation of the tariffs so often that it must have been nuts for any company to actually guess what the final result of all of this will be, and even now that we're there who knows how long this new normal will last before it all changes on...
They've mentioned that they want to do HoS Shockwave at some point so I imagine he and a few Seeker repaints will get done as a Generations wave outside of the broader Timelines branding.
This may be a "the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing" situation. It sounds like a regional Hasbro branch and a local retailer, who may not even be run by people who are up to date on the whole Dreamwave debacle, just commissioned a somewhat well known artist known for doing...
Here's the thing... those were made by people who didn't have much of a track record. Kirkman already has a critically acclaimed cartoon out there based on a SkyBound comic, so I'm far more confident this will work out well.
Not to sound like a shill for corporate a**holes but...
... this is a good thing, as far as our hobby is concerned. There was real doom and gloom not even a year ago that Hasbro would collapse and they seem to be handling the uncertain market and tariff situation as well as can be expected.
