I ended up buying the Ss86 Optimus head/Megatron arm kit and chromed star Convoy stuff. Figured the Optimus head’s really good and maybe I can reuse the cannon on SS86 Megatron since his is weirdly off. The chrome stuff for Star Convoy is supposed to be injection plastic which is cool and makes...
I didn't find it very funny, just kind of sad. i probably wouldn’t even remember if the guy who lived in the old forum’s 3P section didn’t go absolutely insane about every single tweet or drawing they put out
You could steal some screws from other parts that aren’t put under as much stress. The screws on the chest are smaller than most of the others on the toy. The back of his head has three but the bottom two are more than enough. The headcrest is also held on by a screw on the inside of his head...
If the damage isn’t too much you can partially repair screws with a small bit of epoxy.
Tiny Screws for toys are the worst, especially since they look like Philips head screws but are ever so slightly different enough that a Philips screwdriver can break them.
How was it a failure? From the material they continuously released, it looked like their artbook was shaping up well.
what do you mean they were a toy company
I think he’s referencing that one crowdfund toyline that was basically Transformers characters (albeit Pretenders) that had repaints as MOTU characters.
Vortex is very… adequate. There’s nothing wrong with him, he’s got the standard articulation, looks the part and gets the job done but separating the combiner engineering from him leads to a very generic, unimpressive robot and heli. He even mostly transforms like a CW figure with the slight...

Here's the Galvatron toy head and new cannon. The Bee head's still WIP and I believe Nonnef has a dedicated website.

Saw this while looking that one up and I'm definitely interested. Star Convoy needs his bling bling and will probably help him...
Derp. You see, I never bought this mold because somehow it's been used three times and somehow never quite being all that good a fit. Plus, First Edition Bulkhead is near-perfect.
But yeah, the light gray things are an eyesore.
I previously proposed Eggman from Alchemist Prime. Having it in hand, I think I want to buy an extra to paint as Mario instead of Eggman. Especially if I can get a little 3D printed hat.
I think the worst part is the arms just being there. The color makes them stick out already but additioally, them being bent at such an unusual angle makes it seem like a fanmode. The random jumble of red parts and feet sticking out the back don't help of course, but they pass the squint test...
I suspect the cannon simplification is due to it being 3D printed. That would need tiny little hinges to move the panels like in the concept art and being 3D printed might make it difficult to mass produce. As for why it's 3D printed when Achai usually does plastic parts is a different story...
“It’s over Prime! The Decepticons control New Cybertron and you die here, beaten and alone!”
“Even if I fall here, Megatron, the Autobots will stand against your evil and win. Because they hold The Key to Vector Ligma!”
“What’s Vector Ligma?”
“Ligma ba-“
