So I ran out and picked up this set. (Cheetahs for size.)
I always really wanted the Jungle set, but I don't want to spend $30 (inc. shipping) on Walmart's website. These 2-packs are great at $8 on sale, but I'm not sure about the full $14 each. However, I am very drawn to a lot of the...
I've been thinking about what happened to this toyline. Then two new sets revealed this week.

I agree with this somewhat. I think the Movie designs are gorgeous on paper. But what an odd choice, to go with the curving, organically-shaped aesthetic that could not be well reproduced in that toyline.
40th Anniversary photoshoot: The Bay movies.
More photos behind the spoiler:
I used to have a bunch more, but my emotional attachment to this series is weak, so I sold them a few years ago.
I enjoy IDW designs (some of them anyway; there were so many artists, and a few I wasn't really a fan of.) I like aspects of the old G1 cartoon. I'm not against revisiting the past, but in a general way, I'm interested in seeing new things. I want to stress, this is just my own personal...
I've read TF comics since G1. IDW has had some of my favorite art. EJ Su, Milne, Roche, Stone, and more were unshackled from the restraints of Sunbow designs. Focusing on those old designs for current comics and Generations feel like the brand has shoved itself back in the box.
I'm glad that...
Haha, I feel the opposite. The Legacy toy is perfectly fine, but devoid of personality (IMO). The T30 toy is imperfect, but has more visual interest. I'm afraid I fall very much on the side of liking the Classics/Universe/early Generations reinventions of G1 characters, and I think a lot of IDW...
Yeah, honestly, I've always been confused by the "Canadians have it worse because our $$$ numbers are higher!" argument. It's not the same currency. If an Alaskan and New Yorker compare the price of bread and milk, that's something because they're both USD. But saying a toy is X dollars in...
Thought: Hasbro has given us a good handful of IDW-based toys over the years. I haven't been reading Skybound, but It's my understanding that they're hewing closer to a traditional G1 look without re-imagining designs in the way IDW did. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)
So, looking towards the...
I think about this from time to time, how so much of our 80s nostalgia culture is owed to a political decision that I strongly disagree with. I have not come to terms with it. We got Transformers and He-Man and all that other fun stuff, but what did we lose?
I picked up Predacon and Airazor when they were first released, but passed on the rest. I bought Rhinox last year, and just got Cheetor. I'd love to see more older beast toys with ports so I could attach little cars and stuff. I also like color coordination between bigger and smaller guys.
I'd say Ultra Mammoth is a very good match for my G1 Ultra Magnus. Doing a google image search, looks like the G1 guy ranges from this teal-ish color to a more blue-bluish color. I don't know if that's just aging/yellowing, but it's certainly what FunPub based Mammoth on.
After thoroughly examining three copies of this mold, I have no idea why I did it the way I did. I think there was a tutorial on a message board way back when. Or I was just stupid. I kinda messed up my Ultra Magnus and Nemesis Prime a little bit.
