The perfect CHUG Megatron doesn't exist, but I think I've gotten as close as I'm going to get.
I love the Siege version, but the battle damage wasn't doing it for me. The Earthrise version had too much wrong with it. So between the two, and with some help from rubbing alcohol and reprolabels, I...
My theory is that they were a "proof of concept"/test balloon release to see if there was any interest in a SG line. So they played it really safe with both.
I think this is a first.
Honestly? I've been impressed by the effort they've put into the SG line. They could have straight up said "this is a different SG continuity, SG Megatron is a tank now, Starscream doesn't have swords, etc..." but instead they've put the effort into trying to replicate...
If the plastic the SG Autobrand is on is moulded in the base colours then I'm using rubbing alcohol and then applying reprolabels. If the SG symbol is applied over a painted surface? Slightly bigger reprolabels to cover it up.
No, that's Siege Prime's head on Earthrise Prime's body! The paint began to chip on my ER Prime's head (it's red plastic painted blue) so I just swapped it out for the Siege head. It's the same mould anyway.
And I liked the silver around the eyes. Helped his optics pop.
Plus the Siege head is...
The thing saving this Knockout is that the Prime RiD mould isn't very good. So even if it is failing to capture Prime Knockout it is an objectively better Knockout toy then then the other options.
Motormaster is...pretty much what I expect. I'm still waiting to see what he'll look like with all of his car limbs in place. And to see if he really is backwards compatible with CW. I'm interested because Motormaster/Menasor was the weakest CW torso by far, but there's too many unknowns right...
Optimus Prime: No Way Home
Also....I mostly love Legacy Laser OP, but I don't love his weapons. Thankfully the weapons from TR Laser Prime work perfectly with him.
Oh that's nice....and I'm so glad that they're giving us the classic head as an option because I don't really have a SG collection per se, but I would like a Delta Magnus :D
So I picked up Bulkhead, G2 Prime, and Blaster/Eject.
Blaster is great. Near-perfect. He'd be a 10/10 if they'd given him the Marvel comic book head (a rare case where I prefer the Marvel look to Sunbow look).
G2 Prime is, like Blaster, pretty damn perfect. He's got a lot going on that I didn't...
They did an entire line of mainline figures that incorporated functional cockpits into the designs. A GI Joe figure is bigger than a TM, yes, but I don't see why a Hiss Tank Megatron with a functional cockpit couldn't have been designed with more alt mode integration.
