This is my ignorance talking, but did templates work that way before everything was digitized? I mean now, sure, absolutely. The layer function in Photoshop and its imitators make stuff like this super easy (barely an inconvenience)... but back in the mid/late 90s this stuff was all still done...

I don't doubt that a superhero whose tagline is "truth, justice, and the American way" may be struggling internationally at a time when perception of the US isn't exactly high the world over. But.... Fantastic Four is still south of $500 million, and they aren't nearly as tied to Americana...

I had the Legacy Laser Prime and the OG Laser Prime side by side and while the old one still holds up in a lot of ways... it does show its age. The static shoulders on the new one aren't my favourite thing, but overall I much prefer the proportions and posing potential on the Legacy mould.

The thing is... this wouldn't stop being the case after he left Hasbro. Mattel, PlayMates, etc... aren't keen on IP infringement either, and I can't see the upside to going "you know what? I tend to vacillate between Marvel and DC but Superman was just really good. Thing is I actually really enjoyed FF and Thunderbolts* too. The only real clunker has been Captain America: Brave New World

Apparently they have plans to cast a new Batman for this continuity but to be perfectly honest I think they should just work to integrate Pattinson's Batman into it. Just avoid the confusion and take advantage of the groundwork already laid.
