I wouldn't say that they "represent" those characters, but for example, the kangaroo uses SG Soundwave's colors (and it's joey uses SG Ravage's). (image from BotCon's FB page)

I think that's likely exactly what's going on. They're being intentional about using color schemes that call back to SG characters, but that's as far as they seem to dare referencing old stuff without stepping on anyone's actual intellectual property rights.

I'm torn. As you say, TOS Chapel had rather little to her, so I'm pleased to be given more to work with. On the other hand, it's been difficult for me to reconcile this Chapel with that one. I kind of have to treat her as a different person entirely.

One issue I have with this discussion is that some of it is apples and oranges. I prefer 80s/90s Trek (and SNW) over Discovery/Picard (both of which I enjoy) because I greatly prefer the episodic storytelling in those things over the season-long arcs of Disco/Picard. That's not a "bad writing"...

Not to criticize love for "Far Beyond the Stars" (one of the best DS9 episodes, yes) but it was both preachy and non-subtle. Neither prevented it from being excellent, but I simply don't buy an argument that says it wasn't preachy or was being subtle about what it was saying.

When TOS had aliens that literally used Nazi swastikas, I'm not sure you can say that they were more "subtle" than modern writers.

Back when the Wasp Raider was announced (ages ago, now), we were promised that some exclusives would be transforming robots. Ultimately, it depends on what partners are willing to work with them. We'll see.

Hopefully they'll be a step up from the humanoid figure painted up like Waspinator.

Thanks for such a thorough look at the Action Masters (through the lens of this particular figure). I often try to tell folks not only that Action Masters are more than just "Transformers than don't transform," but that other non-transforming Transformers don't rise to the level of being Action...

Since the story was pretty much over by the time Omega Prime acquired the Matrix Blade, I'm not sure how much we can assume. This may have had to have been a different "RiD" continuity from the cartoon.

Scheduling might always be a potential concern, but now that the vast majority of voice work is done remotely, and assembled later, it's much less of a concern than it used to be. ESPECIALLY for cameos.
