I went on a lovely vacation last week, but sadly I missed the pre-orders for the Elite Seeker/Ground Trooper. The wiki says this are Target exclusive, so maybe there's a chance I can find it in stores. I'm super bummed. I've been obsessing over this set since it was revealed. It's one of two...
Bare minimum: include the darn Mini-Con. Even if it doesn't activate a feature. The new Armada toys are objectively less fun without their little buddies.
Hydrophant = Blue Big Convoy Junior.
Seeing how small the beasts are next to Prime and Megatron is startling. But, based on the 5mm (?) peg holes, the beasts look a tad smaller than deluxe, larger than core. Not too bad. I'd like to see them next to some other figures to get a better idea of size.
Highly doubt we'll be seeing the back kibble in any future release. That kibble seems to be the outboard pontoons. The added engineering to get them where they need to be in both modes would be beyond the scope of these very simple toys, I would think.
40th Anniversary photoshoot: Animated
Bay movie stuff will come a little later, but now I’m jumping ahead to Animated. One of my favorite TF toy lines. There was recently some discussion in the Legacy thread about Cyberverse and Earthrise, and it makes me so happy that these earlier main lines...
I like cassettes that aren't cassettes anymore. There's an implied story there. My Classics display includes the Reveal the Shield/United Rumble and Frenzy tanks (and the Eject/Rewind versions) and GDO Laserbeak drone. I don't own (but would love to) Universe Overkill (Classics Grimlock repaint)...
I assume we're getting a Big Convoy sooner or later (surprised it hasn't happened already.) I highly doubt they'd do it, but I'd gladly take a retool to represent this Hearts of Steel OP.
Years back when we learned about the Bludgeon soft tread problem, I looked at mine and it was being damaged. I removed the soft treads from my Bludgeon, Banzaitron, GDO Megatron, "Gigatron", and Cloud Megatron. Ever since then, I've been wary of the soft plastics. I've always stored my blast...
Yes! Primus is the Optimus Prime archetype. He has the Matrix. From the beginning, when Furman introduced the concept of Matrix bearers, Prima was at one end of the list, and OP was at the other. His Aligned incarnation even has chest windows. With OP as the Thirteenth, then Prima's legacy is...
I have no specific qualms with the design, but… it’s okay to redesign things. Classics revamped lots of character visuals, while still being reconcilable as those characters. I love the G1 Star Convoy aesthetic, but I would hope for at least a slight stylistic update for a Generations version.
I've always been a bit sad that Generations Metroplex and the Combiner Wars torsos were not made to connect is any way. (Also, no CW limbs/Metroplex attachment, like the original.) I get that Metroplex was designed way before the CW stuff, but still, I'm sad.
I'm interested in the FFOD bots, but I never liked the idea of Prima being retconned as this guy (and the way that it happened). Maybe I'll get used to it.
