Haha, I feel the opposite. The Legacy toy is perfectly fine, but devoid of personality (IMO). The T30 toy is imperfect, but has more visual interest. I'm afraid I fall very much on the side of liking the Classics/Universe/early Generations reinventions of G1 characters, and I think a lot of IDW...
Yeah, honestly, I've always been confused by the "Canadians have it worse because our $$$ numbers are higher!" argument. It's not the same currency. If an Alaskan and New Yorker compare the price of bread and milk, that's something because they're both USD. But saying a toy is X dollars in...
Thought: Hasbro has given us a good handful of IDW-based toys over the years. I haven't been reading Skybound, but It's my understanding that they're hewing closer to a traditional G1 look without re-imagining designs in the way IDW did. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)
So, looking towards the...
I think about this from time to time, how so much of our 80s nostalgia culture is owed to a political decision that I strongly disagree with. I have not come to terms with it. We got Transformers and He-Man and all that other fun stuff, but what did we lose?
I picked up Predacon and Airazor when they were first released, but passed on the rest. I bought Rhinox last year, and just got Cheetor. I'd love to see more older beast toys with ports so I could attach little cars and stuff. I also like color coordination between bigger and smaller guys.
I'd say Ultra Mammoth is a very good match for my G1 Ultra Magnus. Doing a google image search, looks like the G1 guy ranges from this teal-ish color to a more blue-bluish color. I don't know if that's just aging/yellowing, but it's certainly what FunPub based Mammoth on.
After thoroughly examining three copies of this mold, I have no idea why I did it the way I did. I think there was a tutorial on a message board way back when. Or I was just stupid. I kinda messed up my Ultra Magnus and Nemesis Prime a little bit.
My Ultra Magnus' arms are fine. Thing is, maybe I fixed them myself? I did buy a pin punch about 15 years ago to fix some TFs. It's very possible that I totally forgot about the whole thing. And you can see where I gnawed away at the thighs to open them up and turn them backwards so he can...
What's this about Magnus' forearms being misassembled? I've owned that figure for ages and I guess I never knew there was anything wrong with it. (We're talking about the deluxe Armada Prime repaint from Universe 1.0?)
Yeah, I’d heard about the de minimis and it ending. I haven’t ordered anything from overseas this past week because of that. (I just wish I’d known about the Amazon Japan Wild King situation a little sooner!)
I’m real curious to see how it plays out going forward. I’m expecting the worst. No...
I don't know if this is true at all, but it's my understanding that the US buyer will be charged the tariffs when the item reaches US customers. The overseas sender won't charge the tariffs. I had thought about doing a test order, but I didn't want to get stuck trying to return the thing if I...
For the folks who are ordering these (or the previous wave) to the US: what about the tariffs? I really want to order these, but I don't want to pay an additional ~150%.
Thanks.
Hydrophant's listing says that it won't ship to US. Anyway, with the tariff situation, who knows. Ugh, it's so complicated right now. I just want the dumb little blue elephant.
That is substantiated by my interactions over there. Some folks believe shipping Chinese toys from a UK store to the US won't incur tariffs because tariffs are "based on country of origin." 🤦♂️
My home county in NY State got rid of plastic bags a few years ago. I've since lived in a couple different states and the cashiers look at my reusable bags with question marks over their heads. I just end up bagging my own groceries.
About toys: I poked my head into the dinosaur toy community...
