My vibe on what could have happened?
It’s important to remember that the entire reason DiC did GI Joe was because they gave Hasbro a fantastic production deal (I’ve heard it described as “DiC practically paying Hasbro to make the series”). That goes a LONG way to explaining why GI Joe always...
They came for the hurricane, but are keeping busy with all the tornados. This is a live stream from Max Velocity, covering the tornado(!) threat through central/eastern Florida, before landfall of a category 4/3 hurricane later tonight. At the time I'm posting this, there are 13(!) active...
Oh, Tampa is getting nailed with the brunt of the storm. But, by trending to a more southern eye landfall, they won’t get AS BAD a storm surge as they would have had if the storm had fallen north of Tampa.
Central Florida, as a whole is going to get whomped. Path basically rolls through the biggest tourist destinations of the state from Tampa Bay through Disney and Universal.
Just be aware of flooding. That's what has killed more with Helene than anything related to storm surge and wind. There's also the issue of potential for Tornadoes.
Milton became a Category 5. Sustained Winds 180mph, though it is expected to weaken to a 3 or 4 by the time it hits Wednesday...
Update for the Florida folks:
Hurricane Milton has intensified to a category 4, with some models indicating it may peak at a category 5. Landfall is still expected Wednesday, as a strong category 3 or weak category 4 hurricane, around the Tampa Bay region. Evacuation of hospitals and...
It’s a DEALS WEEK! October 8 is the start of Prime’s holiday sale, and the other retailers are all getting in on it. In terms of Transformers…
Target Circle Week has begun, offering $10 off toy purchases $40 and up, and $20 off toy purchases above $75. Save $20 on Studio Series Optimus Prime?
Next verse, similar to the first: Storm Milton is tracking to hit central Florida as a hurricane (Tampa Bay region), ranging from 1-3. Landfall is expected Wednesday.
In terms of “Console Wars”, I’d argue the last “meaningful” Console War was the 32-bit era in the mid-late 90s. Despite all its financial backing, SCE was effectively a “wild card” in the market and within its own corporate home.
But once Microsoft entered the fray in the following generation...
Actually, Bumblebee opened with just $21 million back in 2018, not counting the extended holiday weekend. With FAR superior competition.
Not to sugar coat things, because this WAS a pretty terrible first couple weekends…but if you look at the theatrical returns as a whole? NOTHING released...
July 19 was the release date for Twisters, one week before Deadpool and Wolverine. July 3 was Despicable Me 2, and I’m sure Paramount wanted some breathing room against that. While not “kids films”, I’m sure a lot of kids DID go to both Twisters and D&W (I know there were some at the screening...
That's probably "MSRP". Remember, Disney outsourced their home media department. But new releases of BR and digital combo packs run $30-35 at mass retail (the few stores still actively carrying movies at this point).
Walmart will be cheaper...unless you get the fancy steelbook.
The linked articles did raise a few vaild factors, some I do agree with:
-"Hard scifi" animated films have never done particularly well at theaters, going back to the utter masterpiece of Iron Giant. Wall-E is an exception, but did so on the back of a strong central character design and the...
Just for clarification for those that don't follow that sort of stuff and think we're all just "fan-ing" about the movie failing:
Last weekend, the second for TFOne, it was beaten out by the third weekend of Beatlejuice 2, by a not insignificant margin. To date, TFOne has brought in just $40...
That’s NYCC, so I’m expecting some reveals and MAYBE preorders for wave 1 Age of the Primes. I don’t expect Next year’s Titan to be revealed until next year at Toy Fair in March.
