The one other possibility that comes to mind is this being a 4D chess move to get people thinking "I should support the next HasLab even if I'm just meh on the campaign because who knows what kind of crazy content might appear afterward." (That doesn't strike me as especially likely, mind you.)

I'm really glad Holiday Optimus exists because he exactly matches a joke I made about SG Nemesis Prime, but he's also a new mold.

And this was of course definitely planned from the moment someone (presumably Furman) came up with the concept, and there is absolutely no possibility that there was a window of time where someone could have thought "they should be Phase Sixers because Sixshot."

In fairness, I'd imagine a typical viewer unfamiliar with the term would probably just assume it was a fancy name for a six-changer and move on. (I've always assumed this was the real-world reason they were Phase Sixers in particular, honestly.)
