Patch opened one eye to look up at Kage. "I feel like I'm half dead and my magical reserves are nearly spent. But if there's still something I can do..."
With a pained grunt, she struggled to lift herself off the floor and back to her feet.
Patch was slowly losing consciousness, but the rush and sound of activity around her told her that the job wasn't quite done. Rolling her head around, she could see Kage fumbling with something. If only there was something I could do to help...
Then, she spotted the mathematical tome lying open...
"Ah-"
Even being on her knees took too much strength, so she soon found herself lying on the floor. With one eye, she saw that Lucidas had been bound up like his associates. So that was it. She would be glad if the fighting was finally over.
In the end, she hadn't been meant to walk amongst...
Oh... damn it all, I got too cocky.
That was her final thought in the milliseconds before taking another blast from the newly summoned numerical orbs. Her eyelids closed... and then snapped open wide as she felt something magical happen to her.
She was still alive. Barely. She hadn't escaped...
The problem with a brain like that is that you end up glitching out every time you run into someone whose brain runs on a different sort of logic than yours. (Which is most people you'll encounter.)
The numerical orb's assault stung. But it was hearing Friday's name on Lucidas's lips that really lit a fire inside of her.
She felt angry, but it was a kind of angry that was new to her. It wasn't an out-of-control emotion tearing her apart inside but a surge of urgency to do what needed to be...
I'm not sure if that's his decision since we last heard from him about 5 days ago. So if you'd rather pause instead, then I'm good with that. We're hoping he'll be able to get back online soon but have no idea when that will actually be.
BTW, Destron (the player) lost internet a couple days ago and we're not sure when he's getting it back, so Zam may need to auto-pilot Destron (the character) for a bit.
Also I forgot I had Quickdraw so I need to quickly go in and edit something in.
Patch wasn't sure how to feel about Monday. There were so many things affecting her ability to think clearly about someone who was ostensibly an aide to those they were fighting against. There was her apparent disinterest in actually serving YPNR's interest, her similarities with Friday, and...
"Whoa, aren't you jumping to conclusions there?" Patch interjected. Even as she expressed her skepticism she was checking to see if there was any truth to his idea.
