  1. Metroid

The cutoff time is four hours. You might need to try a shortcut or two, but it's a manageable time, and if you've gotten a hundred percent then you've developed the gameplay skills needed. It's worth trying. You might surprise yourself.
  2. Super Smash Bros.

I'm hoping that the perfect attendance crew get remade by later standards. Admittedly, I mostly want a more Dread-inspired Samus. After that... I'm hoping that the new roster will be weighted towards new challengers, retro and modern alike. I kinda hope for Officer Howard from Astral Chain...
  3. Metroid

The impact of the EMMI definitely wore off over time. At first they're a terror, then they're a chore, then you realize that Samus can platform slightly faster so it's actually a race. Seriously, the best advice I can offer is to keep moving and remember to use all of Samus' movement...
  4. Metroid

I kinda want a remake of Other M, or maybe a sequel. The story... There were some good, or at least interesting ideas, but the execution was a mess. Taking the broad strokes and rewriting them into something stronger is at least possible. The gameplay though, definitely had some things worth...
  5. Metroid

It's hard so that you're encouraged to learn how to play the game. When you've learned how to handle the enemies, it's actually surprising how quickly they die.
  6. Outdated game mechanics.

I tend to lean in the opposite direction: I think that a lot of games could stand to remove half or more of the non-boss encounters.
  7. Metroid

Okay, done. That ending was quite a ride, not letting up at all. Loved the last boss, and the end sequence.
  8. Metroid

The item pacing feels kind of weird. The spin boost is basically an altered high jump, but it comes much later than the high jump usually did, and not that long before the actual space jump. Likewise, the cross bomb is an interesting new ability, but I got it maybe an hour before the power...
  9. Metroid

Yeah, Kraid kinda lost his mojo after the first game, but this one turned him back into a proper challenge.
  10. The Nintendo Thread of Jumping, Slashing, and Home Decorating

Yeah, you don't have to look hard to see the saw marks where the Disney parts were removed. Donald and Goofy didn't even get in on background images; I'm almost surprised that Sora kept the Mickey keychain.
  11. The Nintendo Thread of Jumping, Slashing, and Home Decorating

I figured that Nintendo would want to end the game with a bang, and Sora certainly does that.
  12. Outdated game mechanics.

They still show up occasionally, but they tend to either be very streamlined or better integrated with the rest of the gameplay. Either just one or two button presses or an actual mini-game with actual controls and rules. Pressing a long sequence of random buttons seems to be gone, though.
  13. The Nintendo Thread of Jumping, Slashing, and Home Decorating

Jack Black as Bowser is the only casting choice that I'm actually excited by. I want another Bayonetta game and it looks interesting, but I'm not sure Bayonetta's new voice actress and her outfit seems... Kinda like something a younger person would wear? Odd choice for her primary outfit...
  14. Hyrule Town Square

As annoying as the weapon degradation was, it was a big part of the gameplay loop. Without the constant loss of weapons, the gameplay loop just isn't there. That said, while I'm pretty sure that it'll be back in the sequel, I hope that it's dropped outside of BotW games. Also, it could use a...
