  1. This new thing called socialism

Imo this has always been based off of self preservation. This was done 100 years ago, because the government wasn't providing your safety net. You had to build it. You went to church, gave your time, and supported others. Then if you had a house fire, the church and congregation would help...
  2. Nosy Neighbors

This sounds like paranoia. There is no reason to think this malicious or intentional. The wall may be next to his bed and he idly taps his foot when falling asleep, or while sleeping. It may be behind his couch and he absent mindedly drums his fingers while watching tv. They may have a cat...
  3. Traitor Watch - The 45 & 47 Thread

That amendment stands no chance, so it really doesn't matter, but still.... The frequency with which articles are posted, not read, and then commented on here is unsettling. From like the first paragraph of that article. “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than...
  4. A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... - Star Wars General Discussion

Enjoyed this interview with the creators of Skeleton Crew, some good stuff about Jod, decisions they made, and where things may go. https://screenrant.com/star-wars-skeleton-crew-jon-watts-christopher-ford-finale-interview/ I like the idea of him actually liking the kids, and pushing them...
  5. What If Season 2

Man, this season is dull/uninteresting so far. Currently on the western ep. All have been completely forgettable.
  6. A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... - Star Wars General Discussion

I don't need him to be a true scoundrel, I'm looking for force sensitive Han Solo.
  7. A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... - Star Wars General Discussion

I hopeful that Jude's character is going to give us a scoundrel-Jedi/force user.
  8. A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... - Star Wars General Discussion

Yeah it seems weird. The hidden face makes it seem that a reveal is being set up, but a lot of vibes make it seem like this dude should have been long gone. Maybe somebody from Acolyte?
  9. A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... - Star Wars General Discussion

With the reveal of the other At-At____s, and with the one we see, seeming to have once had a city with the same layout, I'm wondering if the "Great Work" was "identical" planets with a control variant. This could have been a noble experiment to try and find the most successful and prosperous...
  10. In Space No One Can Hear You Scream: An Alien thread

Lol, yeah, it's honestly not the worst. The aesthetic is really bad compared to the others as it just looks like generic 90s sci-fi, and the "cloning" and improving the Xeno plot points are dumb. If they had dropped the Ripley and clone stuff, and instead just had the crew of the Betty stumble...
  11. We live in a capitalist dystopia

Literally not a fact..... He was not ever insured by United Healthcare, and so far it doesn't look like any evidence of a denied claim has surfaced at all.
  12. In Space No One Can Hear You Scream: An Alien thread

Aliens swimming is about the only good thing to come from it.
  13. A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... - Star Wars General Discussion

One of my favorite bits of Last Jedi is that we get some of kooky Yoda, I kind of wish we got more of Yoda undulating between serious wise master, and silly little green man in the prequel movies.
  14. Escalating anti-LGBT+ hate and the terrorism it inspires

While I don't like what it does, this does appear to be an appropriate place for it, rather than a sneaky rider in the bill. From what I can gather its a defense bill, essentially a military budget bill, that says what the money can and cannot be used for. They are essentially saying the...
  15. A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... - Star Wars General Discussion

He was testing Luke to see how he treated a weird little swamp man vs an exalted Jedi Master.
  16. Traitor Watch - The 45 & 47 Thread

While he is not very articulate in the full version, the clip seems intentionally cut to paint it in the worst possible way. While it's not crystal clear, due to how broken his speech and trains of thought often are, he is not talking about directly deporting children that have birthright...
  17. A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... - Star Wars General Discussion

Anyone else watching Skellington Crew? Liking it so far. Seems to be closer to Andor and early Mando quality wise rather than Obi Wan or Acolyte.
  18. President Biden pardons Hunter Biden

Lol, this isn't a middle finger to them, it's a gift, and the Democratic party footed the bill.
  19. What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

This guy maths and taxs. Thanks for working it all out.
  20. What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

It looks like income tax went down by 1.25% and sales tax went up by 1%. I'm terrible at math, but by my calculations, unless you spend 125% of your income on taxable goods and services, you are saving money.
