    Star Trek General Discussion

Not logical, exactly, but disciplined; Romulans come from a very militaristic culture (think Communist China or Soviet Russia --or Imperial Rome, which is what the culture is based on), so most of the Romulans we meet are either soldiers, spies, or former-soldiers turned political figures...

Bear in mind also that the point of streaming shows is not simply to generate content, it's to drive subscriptions to the streaming service. It doesn't matter how many people are watching, it matters how many people are paying.

A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... - Star Wars General Discussion

Don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I used to work in audience measurement (what Nielsen does), and if Nielsen is anything like Canada's Numeris then the numbers are all bullshit anyway (but yes, network suits treat it as Gospel because it's the only quantifiable data they have)...

    Traitor Watch - The 45 & 47 Thread

It's because the database was coded in COBOL. The "default" zero-date is in 1875. Of course, Musk and his Twitler Youth don't know this because they're either idiots or too young and inexperienced to know that COBOL exists.

And even without being high ranking, just knowing Starfleet regs and UFP law, he'd know the wreckage must be removed because there's a pre-industrial civilization on Veridian-4, and it's a Prime Directive issue.

The Twit destroying Twitter is a Twaitor

And as I've said elsewhere, Musk's henchmen apparently had full read/write access, which means it's not about the data they copied, it's about the data they altered. Every database they touched should be considered compromised and needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Thread of Thoughts, Questions (and Maybe Even Answers) That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

Oddly, looking at the toys, it almost feels like it could be the other way around, given how they're all named for their breast animals rather than for their own identities. It feels like the breast animals could be the actual brains, just using humanoid transtectors to blend into Cybertronian...

Thread of Thoughts, Questions (and Maybe Even Answers) That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

I remember reading The Hobbit not too long after watching TFTM in the 80s, and my take on Rodimus' worthiness was that the Matrix was basically the One Ring; it has a will of its own, and it chose to leave Optimus (how many times has he fought Megatron? And this is the first time he's been...

If that one counts as a Transformers video, then so does this masterpiece. I especially love Unicron's moment of "lipsynch" at 1:55.

Trump can just pardon anyone useful. Which means that his supporters, once they've done something illegal (and he has leverage), will need him to stay in power to protect them, so they'll support his eventual executive order to become President-For-Life.
