So just saw something pointed out how this could be an interesting ploy:

If the Governor activates the Guard, it’s a barrier to the President doing so. If the Minnesota Guard is active, courts can say there’s no reason to bring in Guard from other states.

Also brinksmanship. The regime is pushing hard to provoke an episode to justify massive retaliation. Having the Guard active and present forces the question of who will be shooting whom.

Maybe we can get this guy instead:
“I want to tell you what I mean when I say I am going to kill Donald Trump,” Forhan said in a video posted to his Facebook page. “I mean I’m going to obtain a conviction, rendered by a jury of his peers, at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, based on evidence presented at a trial, conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment.”
I like the cut of his jib.

He's got my vote. Literally. Like, I'll write him in if he doesn't get on the ballot, damn whoever else is running.

So I'm unclear on what these bills are proposing. Just mandatory ID checks on all users to even log into their own computers?

If its like the California one, then it requires every OS maker to collect age information at the time of account setup, and provide it to any program that requests it. If its like one of the more onerous ones being proposed(New York is one of these IIRC?) then it also requires connecting to an ID verification service. We don't have the text of the bill online to know just how granular it gets.

There's also the question of defining OS and Accounts on top of that. What if someone runs something as system or as root? Service accounts? What about embedded OS devices like those attached to milling machines?

Its just a big pile of suck if not defined extremely carefully, even putting aside the scope of it.

The administrative state needs to go. There are things that would be harder to do without it. There are good things that would go away, and there are some terrible people who want it gone for exactly that reason.

But it needs to go, because jive like this is the inevitable conclusion. No one who's writing these bills has any earthly idea what their own proposals do or how they're supposed to be implemented. They have only the vaguest idea what any of the terms mean. They just got the memo that this is what the world is doing now, so they're grunting out these bills, and whatever happens happens. They do not know. Because they don't have to know. They'll pass this crap, go on another recess, and it'll be someone else's problem to figure out how the implementation is supposed to work. It's insanity.

I still think this jive will fizzle out at the implementation stage because administrators won't be able to figure it out either. But if legislators had to figure it out themselves I think they would have given up already.
