I think it'll be closer to the 5-pack Power Core Combiners. Maybe robot modes for the limbs but I'm not expecting anything more than Micromaster levels of transformation.

Yeah, the Voyager price point is a big factor here. That's what drew me to the Combiner Force comparison.

I would be happy with a new Power Core Combiner. Just get rid of the springs and use real plastic this time.
PCC was a great, but often forgotten little line. Had a couple of rougher figures (looking at you, Double Clutch), but a lot of those toys were just absolutely amazing designs.
Way I see it, the PCC 5-packs were sold at voyager price and had springloaded gimmicks. It probably shouldn’t be too difficult to do the same thing but without springs nowadays since spring gimmicks were largely phased out based on cost, if we extrapolate designer comments on ratchet joints.
They really only have to design arm modes. All leg modes have to do is end up the same relative height/length

I knocked some points off Smolder because his torso mode is so bad. It’s the CW Motormaster of the line: stellar robot and vehicle but terrible combiner mode.
And it's the only mold that Takara did not release in United EX.
You know what, I take that back. CW Menasor at least has a new super mode chest and crotch. Smolder doesn’t even bother. Bro does this and slaps drones on the ends of his limbs

There's a voyager Armada Sideways next year.
I would never put ANY sort of Optimus and Friends outside possibility as he's always a seller, and being able to tie in extra sales to him is a bonus. That being said, I was surprised an Armada Jetfire and Overload weren't made right off the bat when they did Armada Prime, for the exact same reason. It was money on the table. It sounds like they're correcting it now, but we'll see. It was still a weird omission.
On the subject of Primes, does anyone know how tall the AOTP combiners are, relative to HasLab Optimus/Omega? I'm now wondering about the future Bruticus recolor possibilities.

On the one hand, I want an urban camo ruination. On the other hand, I wonder how a Wreckers Ruination from a straight G1 Bruticus would look.
I imagine they just weren't sure how much spending money Armada kids have yet, so they decided to tread carefully. Yeah Titan Tidal Wave happened already, but that's something they specifically got asked about at every convention since the debut of Titans.
