That looks terrible.

A third party will have to replace two thirds of the shell and the spoiler to make it work, which they are unlikely do to.

What a mess.

They might just make a full figure, a-la Fans Project?

Eh. It's not terrible, not ideal. Strange that they didn't make the spoiler in 2 halves so that it could stay with the legs. Half thinking about trying to slice it down the middle myself. I think a couple of dividing lines on the windows would have helped, too:

That's pretty funny. He looks like one of those Countach kit cars built off an old Fiero.

Dividing up the windows does help though. I'm probably do that.

It does at least seem like more money was spent on differentiating the bot mode too.

No amount of kidding myself will ever think thats acceptable The front and side panels are all wrong
What a bust The studio series is giveing us two detailed Lambos (Lockdown and Hot Rod)
And somebody comes and does a copy paste job on Breakdown

This line baffels me me we get cool Core class Pretender guys (Iguanus and Bombburst) and then someone comes along and gives us a lackluster Dlx class Skullgrin.. Dragstrip Deadend and Wildrider look great and then Breakdown looks like this...

On the one hand, it does seem like there's no rhyme or reason to which figures get the engineering to shine and which figures seem to have been...phoned in? Or at least suffered from budgetary needs.

On the other hand, I have the G1 Stunticons for my Gobot-scale collection, and the CW G2 set+Offroad for my larger scale collection. I was never really planning on getting the Legacy Stunticons anyway, too many other must-have figures in the line, so I guess I don't have a horse in this particular race?

So, people want them to create an entirely new mold that just happens to transform pretty much the exact same as another becuase he's still got to work as carmor for Menasor; and since 90% of you are likely to keep him in Menasor mode, will actually never be seen becuase he forms a calf?

No, I think just a little more remolding would have been fine. The already did the back end of the car, removing those vents and adding some sunken headlights would have gone a long way to making it look more like a Lambo and less like Wildrider.

Though I'm not terribly bothered by it for the reasons that you had stated.

Design wise for me it goes
Vehicle-robot mode-combine mode
If the vehicle mode does not work for me that kills my interest if your going to spend 24 bucks for a TF and only for one mode what are your doing?
Look not every line is gonna be perfect I get that This time was Breakdowns turn

I honestly probably would have never noticed without people pointing it out online. He's either going to be in robot mode or leg mode most of the time for me so I'm not too put out anyway, but it does feel like they cut some corners at the last minute due to budget.

I mean, not really? The Countach and the Ferrari have distinctive enough noses that it's kind of obvious that Breakdown's nose isn't remolded from Wildrider's, and clearly several people believe it should have been. After Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, Breakdown is the third transformation for the Countach, and I think the expectation was that Breakdown's car mode would at least somewhat match the first 2. The nose of the car seems like something that could have been planned as part of a Breakdown-specific alternate mold for the Wildrider set from the very beginning. It's not like the designers didn't know what figures they were going to be making when they decided to go ahead with the Menasor redux. So, from the outside, it seems like an odd choice to forego the last little bit to make the car mode distinctly Breakdown. Obviously, there were probably reasons that we don't or may not ever know.

I'm not super bothered by this Breakdown, but I don't think it's entirely unreasonable for people to expect that entire list of things when Hasbro managed it the first three times. (Although only one previous time was a calf.)

They don't need to create an entirely new mold, just the white sprue and the clear sprue. And they have done this in the line, multiple times.

But yes, they absolutely needed to do an entire new white sprue. It looks awful.
