That was actually my reaction too. It wasn't terrible. It was just mid. The thing is, sometimes "just mid" can be worse than actually bad when you're talking about a summer AAA blockbuster.

Funny bad is good.

I don't have all of the MST3K library in raw form, and I probably never will, but I have a lot of it.

Bleh. Skol kinda sucks. I'm going to have to chug this so I can get rid of it and order something better.

Why does it still make national news whenever California has a raging wildfire? At this point, tell me when Scottland gets rain, or Siberia gets snow.

Hey, here's some breaking news for you. Water is wet!

Maybe because its technically the central hub of Entertainment and the mainstream don't want to talk about other things that are more important

I live near the Mississippi River, and there are people who have lived along the flood plain all their lives, and yet act totally shocked every time the river floods. I have to assume these people go to bed every night distraught that they'll never see the sun again, and wake up every morning amazed at the ball of fire in the sky...

Have to give a lecture on motivational counselling and the number of times I have to say motivation makes me sound like Vergil. Maybe I'll pepper in some powers in there while I'm at it.

Good luck. I've done public speaking enough times that I can't seriously say I'd rather die than do it, but I'm close. I wouldn't call it a nightmare either, because I've had nightmares I'd rather live in for eternity than do public speaking.

Aah, yes. How dare the national news report on *checks notes* things that are happening nationally. Especially trivial things like wide spread fires that endager the environment and animals, never mind the smoke that's dangerous to breathe in. Who cares, you don't live there or have family there, it's no big deal. Why bother showing things that don't personally affect me?

The idea of algorithmically curated news is one of the more pernicious ideas that the "social media era" wave of Silicon Valley Lords came up with.

The best sort of propaganda, after all, is that which flatters its audience that they Really Get What's Going On.

Did you seriously just compare the fifth largest economy in the hugging world (AKA bad jive that happens there affects the entire rest of the country and, arguably, the world) to Scotland and hugging Siberia lmao

Like iirc California grows like 1/3rd of the vegetables sold in the US. Wildfires threaten those crops? Prices go up.

You like almonds? California grows 80% of them. Not 80% of the ones grown in the country, 80% of them grown in the entire WORLD. (This is also why almond prices have increased because heat from climate change and droughts have resulted in some growers in California leaving the market)

And we can't just grow somewhere else. California was a Goldilocks zone for a lot of crops.

We're kinda screwed.

No, I compared the fact that California is on fire to the fact that water is wet. Economy has jack jive to do with it. Thanks for stretching the context to suit your own rant!

And yes, I also have family in California. I don't think they care to know every time Indiana (me) has a tornado either. You report something enough times, it starts to become like, "okay, whatever. What else is new." Maybe get a governor other than Newsom who actually knows what a controlled burn looks like.

But yes, water is wet. Fire is hot. Thanks for the update!

Put one Lego model in the roof today and bought another down as its approaching Halloween so I bought down my Nightmare Before Christmas kit, while the floating Restaurant kit went up and it will stay up there until January when I bring it back down again and send Halloween town back up
